ON MAY THE 16 ( i BELIEVE THAT WAS THE DATE.)WE SEEN A FUNNEL CLOUD STANDING ON THE BEACH OF LA CABANA i NOTICED THIS FUNNEL CLOUD BY THE LIGHTHOUSE ,LOCALS CLAIM THE CHURCH AT Paradera AND A BUNCH OF HOMES WERE DAMAGED. ROOFTOPS TORN OFF AND OTHER DAMAGE TO HOMES.

i have not heard that there was ANY damage at Alto Vista.

Ok , it may have been a different area but there was a funnel cloud and there was damage. Thanks.

while you were there, did you see anything in the resort newspapers or on the tv news talking about it?

was it scary to see something like that?
we saw a waterspout a number of years ago and we were clueless.........just sat there at the beach and said to dear husband something like "wonder what that is?"

Should I be worried? We leave on Friday. Has the weather been bad the past week? AAAHHHHH SO stressed now.

it is a tropical island. I really don't think Aruba gets many tornadoes.

Yes there was a tornado, I was on the island on that date, did not see it but a friend of mine who lives there in Paradera saw it from his house and told me about it. I live in Ct and we never got any tornados either but they are more abundant here now. All kinds of wierd weather is affecting areas that have never or seldom occured before. I wouldn't be suprised if more tornado's will be hitting the island. Just my 2 cents.
