Wow! What a great island! Wanted to come here since the early nineties, wasn't disappointed.
Had a decent time in Paradise Island, Bahamas and Turks and Caicos - but this had them both beat
by a country mile.
Stayed at the Riu Palace - good value for the money, but I think I would have stayed instead at the Antillas -
nicer decor throughout the property, slightly better food, better "off hours" snack options for those oddly
timed cravings, plus access to the other part of the Riu.
Did you do an activities or go off the property much?
How are the drink options at Rui...do they include American beers and/or top shelf liquors?
I don't drink much. Drank far less in Aruba than when I stayed at a Riu on Paradise Island - and even
there I didn't have many drinks.
Didn't notice the brands used at the bar, but each room gets a minibar with an upside down
liquor dispenser. Unlike the rack brands on Paradise, I saw name brand spirits - Absolut, Johnny Walker
Red, and a few others I can't recall. All good stuff.
Didn't do much in the way of in-resort activities - took a cab to Hooiberg Mountain and climbed up to the top (staircase).
Also walked into town for a bit. Also went on the Palm Pleasure for a sunset sail - that was great!
