    LaCabana 10/7 -10/29

Arrived 10/7 from Atlanta. The whole trip was a breeze. Going in thru the new International Terminal I just walked right thru to the security. Immigration was only a 15 minute wait in Aruba. LaCabana managed to get us in the same room for the entire stay. Yeah, no waiting around to transfer food and luggage. Very boring time haha. Unpacked,Happy hour and then the beach. Since I was on my own the first two days I ate at the Island Grill at LC. DH arrived yesterday. He went thru the new machine that takes your picture so you don't have to take care of that card they give you . We ate at Tulip last night. It was the last night of restaurant week. I had Papaya soup with cashews. It was fantastic. We are going again next week when family come down and they said they would make it the soup of the day for me. DH had the Lion Fish Cevice. He said it was a very meaty fish. His red snapper was beautiful and tasty. I had the beef filet (not a fish eater). Since we will be here for so long fancy restaurants will only be occasional. Made a list of the places the forum members have suggested and will work my way thru.

I've heard great things about Tulip. I'm actually staying at MVC in November so I will probably dine at Tulip a few times or walk down to the La Cabana and eat at the Islander Grill. Thanks for posting and keep us updated.

Saturday, overcast for most of the day but it made it comfortable. DH still managed to get some sunburn even in the shade all day. Won Bingo for the first time in 15 years. We stay at the pool for most of the time, our new room is just steps away.
Yeah, just figured out it was the computer I was on that wouldn't let me make paragraphs.
Dinner last night was in the room. Surprised I didn't have the fire department at our door. Didn't put the vent on while I was making steak and the room filled with smoke :-(. The rib eye we got at SuperFood was great.
This morning once again at the pool. I have never seen so many available tables at the pool deck. Could have gone out at 10 and still gotten a good space. Mass at ABC and Alhambra tonite. No do not pray for luck ;-).
Can't wait for daughter and fam to arrive Wednesday.

Well daughter and family went back home to NJ so I can get back to writing. Had a great time with family. My 7 yr old grandson took to snorkeling like a duck to water. We couldn't keep him out of the water. Spent more time on the beach than we usually do. DH and I like the pool to hang out. Daughter and SIL love to cook so a few dinners were in the room. Did go back to Tulip with them, which they loved. Also went to Pelican Pier for dinner. Alexis said it was the best fish she ever had and they live at Jersey shore. SIL wanted to go to Texas de Brazil and had a good meal. Too much food for me. Wanted to try Scotts Brats but didn't know that they are only open for lunch. Last night went to West Deck. Food was good. I had Samosas then keshi yena. DH had conch fritters then the grouper dinner. We loved everything. Sunset was beautiful thru the palms. Interesting to see the sunset from a different angle. Went to Seaport Casino and they let me have some money to take home :-). DH and I have been lucky at Bingo at pool. He won once and I did twice. One of my wins was the cover all game. Madam Jeanette's here we come.
