So far I have not found out their reason for the policy; here it is anyway; http://www.lacabanabrc.com/members/W...egulations.pdf I think it is due to the large number of Cruise Ship passengers coming over to Eagle beach and using the beach lounge chairs and pool side chairs.

reason for wristbands
lacabana brc and the villas (now called the aruban) divorced a few yrs ago. folks no longer have the privilige of using each other's pools and pool lounges and towels. lacabana folks have wristbands to differentiate who is who. we had visitors come by last january for a few hours and sat poolside with us. they sat in the shade under an umbrella. they had no wristbands. but they WERE taking up space for lacabana. samuel the security guard was nice about it and did not ask them to leave....but technically the pool area at lacabana is only for its registered guests and deeded owners. the wristbands show that the folks are where they are supposed to be. and......the aruban does not let lacabana folks use their pools either. (or so they say) andrea

pools at The Aruban were empty last week. There were a few kids w/ LaCabana wristbands using the waterslide and they were not told to leave. Honestly, there was no one there to tell them to leave. And no one there to clean/skim the pool....

Thanks Andrea ! - The Aruban/La Cabana issue didn't X my mind.
---- Too bad Jacki. We stayed @ the Aruban two years ago courtesy of our dear S.I.L. and feel bad about the situation there.

My husband and I just stayed the during the first two week's of October. We used the wrist bands for the first time. It wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. I was especially happy that it didn't leave any mark. from the sun on my wrist. Our Unit will not be renovated until 2010. I have seen inside of the renovated rooms and they are very upscale and beautifully decorated. I cannot wait until they are completed. The renovation did not bother us, during our stay. It was very quiet at Night. |
