    Live in Aruba from 4/18-24th

In less than 24 hours I will be on the plane headed to Aruba for my 17th trip. This trip is going to be a little different than my previous trips. My wife has all of her vacation time accounted (we have 15 nights in Aruba in August) for so while it is my 17th trip this will be my first on my own and I am really looking forward to it.

I am packed and ready to go. I am headed out in the morning on Jetblue and taking a connecting flight thru NYC. It is the first time I have ever done a connection but it is also the first time I have flown for free using points. Free is a good word this trip. I have done as much as I can to lower my expenses for this trip. In order to do so I am moving around a bit. I arrive and stay one night at the Holiday Inn using Expedia points, transfer to the Hyatt for one night using points, then I transfer to the Ritz for 2 free nights, then pay for 2 nights at the Ritz to finish up the week.

I plan on trying a number of new places this trip and of course I will report what I experience with all of you. I can't wait till tomorrow!

My wife and I were talking over lunch how out of character this is for me as I am very much a creature of habit. So traveling alone is certainly new, I have not traveled alone since I worked as a compliance officer for a Mortgage company and that was short lived as I hated all of the travel.
