CK1- I am looking forward to a walk around town....I wont do it this trip as tomorrow will be a close to home day as I leave on Sunday. I am 50/50 about making a return trip this June/july without the family. I have had such a great time if its feasible I may be back in two months...otherwise I will have to wait till my two week vow renewal in August.

Last night I went to BLT for an incredible meal! My server Gwen was fantastic as always with a perfect memory as well. I told Gwen I did not need to see the menu because I knew exactly what I wanted. She asked if I wanted what I had the last time I dined with her in February, when I said I yes. She said, okay you will start with the Caesar Salad, followed by the Filet with Maine lobster, with fries cooked medium. Who remembers what some ordered 2 months ago? Gwen at the Ritz, that's who, lol.

I just returned from a very nice breakfast at Solanio, it was very tasty as always. It was nice to see Chef Stanwick as well who instantly recognized me and welcomed me back. The memories of the people are just amazing. They see thousands of people monthly yet remember you like you never left. Just another reason why I enjoy myself at the Ritz so much.

Wonderful, Aruba4ever. I'm sure you will fully enjoy exploring Oranjestad.

Glad, you had such a great time, going on long walks, discovering more places, trying out new restaurants, spending time with your Aruban friends. Lots to talk about when you return home.

Thanks Brady bear- Today is my last full day and I have made the most of it. I had an excellent lunch at Madero today. I sat at the bar and watched an excellent soccer game while enjoying an excellent meal. While a turkey club sandwich may not sound incredible but it was. I have no idea what type of butter/flavorings they added to the bread but it was out of this world good. It was the first time I have been at a bar this week and did not have a drink, lol. There will be no drinking for me today, my body needs to detox before my flight home tomorrow, lol.

After lunch I walked to the lighthouse and back once again. It was great to see all the locals swimming and enjoying the beach areas on their day off. I will miss this walk next week.

I "nicely" broke it to my wife that if I return home with enough cash to pay for my hotel room, and board our dogs, I am coming back again solo in June when she travels to see her family in NY- I am not going on that trip and would I rather be solo in Boston or solo in Aruba? Well that's an easy one to answer, lol. I now just need the "casino gods" to smile upon me this evening.

Thanks Walt and Andrea. I am sitting on my balcony writing what will probably be my last post prior to heading home in the next hour or so. I like to arrive REAL early at the airport so I have zero issues and typically stroll thru these days in less than 30 minutes from start to finish.

I did not have a good night gambling but any night in Aruba is still a good night in my book. I am sad to be going home but excited to see family and especially my little twerp.

This trip was one of the most relaxing trips I have ever taken in my life. I was able to go at my own pace and do my own thing all week, and that was very enjoyable. I will certainly be open to a solo trip in the future, possibly even in June as I mentioned before. That said, I can't wait until my entire family is here (plus one of my best friends and his wife from home) this summer when we renew our vows on the beach, August can't come quickly enough.

Aruba is a special place. The people make the island for sure, and the people of the Ritz Carlton are second to none IMO.
