Andrea yes - Aqua windies! That was the place I was looking for. Got there late morning. They were great and equipment seems very clean. FYI, $15 per day for mask and fins. Keep the gear as long as you want and pay for the applicable amount of days when you return it. They do require a copy of your credit card as a deposit but they dont charge it unless you don't return in over a week.

We had breakfast at Diana's pancakes, usually do Linda's but I wanted to qualify myself for a vote in the great Dutch pancake debate - these were pretty good but my vote goes to Linda's. Went downtown and shopped all over the place for about 3 hours. Kids got some souvenirs. Hubs and I just tagged along. Parked in the lot by the marina, the machine only takes change. We only had enough for 30 mins so set off to find someplace to make change. Tried Cilo and Starbucks to no avail. Attendant tells us to try casino. Casino cashier tells us to just park in free lot behind the marketplace. So we moved the car. Lesson learned - bring plenty of change with you, or use the free back lot. We wouldn't have minded paying for the parking but found it frustrating that they don't take bills or provide a change machine. Saw several boots on cars in the paid lot.

Kids wanted to try zeerovers for lunch. Catch of the day was mahi mahi. We ordered enough for 3 people because I recalled last time we went there it was way too much food. It was delicious but still too much, so you can guess what happened next.... Yup - a whole lot of nothing! We all stuffed ourselves, and lost our interest in snorkeling today. It's probably for the best as DIL has a pretty good burn and didn't want to be in the sun anyway. So now back to the room for a little siesta. Not sure if we will make it down to Bugaloe tonight or even out for dinner. I've had so much to eat today I can't even think about food. A nice night on the balcony with wine and cheese may be in order.

glad that aquawindies was right on the mark for you and yours.

a few years ago we "forgot" our snorkel gear (in the trunk of the car @ airport parking in orlando) so we had to rent.
aqua windies was awesome and we were very pleased with the condition of the equipment. pleased to the point where we ended up buying it online to replace the old stuff that we owned.

how did zeerovers prepare the mahi?

glad that you folks are having fun and are well fed.

Sounds like an awesome day! We drove through downtown a few times yesterday and noticed it was kind of empty. There looked like plenty of parking places available and no crowds. We are planning on going today to do a bit of shopping and have lunch at Iguana Joe's. Did you make it to Bugaloe?

Made it to Bugaloe, it was crowded, we stayed through their first set. I really enjoy that band, hope to catch them again next week. Headed across the street for gelato and the South Beach girls handed us all free shot coupons so we figured we might as well take them up on that. There was no one there. The poor bartender was so bored he doled out several free shots just to keep us there. The drinks we purchased were pricey so I don't think they lost any money on us. Stopped at Sopranos for one last night cap, sang along with the lively crowd for a bit then called it a night (a late one for hubs and I). Son took chickee duty this am so I got a couple extra hours of sleep. Went for a quick run and workout to try to sweat out all the booze and calories consumed yesterday. Today will be a beach day. Hopefully the kids will use the darn snorkel gear, maybe head up to Arashi later. If not I will return it. No sense paying for it to sit in the trunk. Grrr.

Walt there is a cruise ship in port today so prepare for downtown to be full.

Sounds like a great vacation. We went to Zeerovers for the first time on our last trip and loved it. We've been wanting to visit Sopranos, but I have hesitated because I thought that it might be too smokey. Was it very smokey where you were there? Thanks for taking the time to share your trip.

There are some outside seats at Sopranos, little couches and taller bar seats that are more like drink rails with stools that I seem to remember being 1/2 inside, 1/2 outside. These are all outside but you can hear the music, we didn't think it was smokey but we aren't really sensitive to it either.

Sorry I've lost a couple of days here. Wifi has been spotty on the beach past couple of mornings, and it's been basically the same thing. Beach, food , drinks - rinse wash and repeat.

Either the sun is hotter than usual this year or we are just becoming more sensitive to it. I'm finding myself spending more time in the shade and my Italian hubs is pretty burned which is very unusual. Using the same brand of sunscreen as in past and applying often. It does seem hotter than normal and very few clouds. The sea, at least here at Palm beach is very very calm - I could float all day!

We have been eating pretty casual so far. Most lunches from Scott's brats. I love the Italian beef sandwich and hubs goes for the hot sausage - funny how he could care less for a sausage sandwich at home but something here just pumps everything up a notch. Kids are loving the docs brat. We also start with bloody mary's from Scott's each morning. Then there's the Eduardo's acai bowl which apparently I'm trying to eat enough to store away til I can get them again when we return in September.

Wednesday night we tried to go to Local Store but they were closed for a private party so we decided on Bingo instead. I love their salads there. Everything was fantastic - especially the coconut shrimp that we shared as an app - might be the best I've had anywhere. In fact next week I plan on returning and ordering it for my dinner. Last night was Barneys for rib night - none of us made it to a second plate. The ribs were smaller than in the past but still tender and delicious and a good value at $22 for all u can eat including fries, salad and slaw. Almost forgot - breakfast at salt and pepper yesterday morning. Very good - I can't get enough of their hash browns. Every night ends with a few drinks at the beach bar and a night cap on the balcony.

Today is the last full day for son and DIL, I think they are going to parasail. I was trying to convince one of them to climb the Hooiberg with me before they leave but I guess that's not happening. Waiting for sunrise now so I can go for quick run (by quick I mean short, not fast), like thats going to make up for all of my poor choices during the rest of the day. Lol. Then I need to get back up to the room and see if I can catch that housekeeper swapping out my clothes for smaller sizes - I'm sure that's what is happening
