I am just about packed and ready to go for tomorrow. I am headed back to Aruba for solo trip #3 and trip #22 overall. This was a last minute trip I booked about 10 days ago. I will flying JetBlue and staying at the Ritz this trip and I can't wait to see all of my island friends.
I don't have a ton of things planned with the exception of dining with a couple of friends and meeting Walt and Pam for a drink. The rest of my vacation will be made up of relaxation on the beach, long walks, spending time with some friends and of course gambling the night away. I will do my best to post my adventures during my free time which I will have a ton of since I am by myself. My wife of 20+ years is amazing and I really appreciate the chance to return on my own with her full support...great wife= great life, lol. Let the games begin
Thanks Andrea. My alarm is set for 3:15 am which is the only part of the trip I won't enjoy, lol. My new preference for flying is now not how early I can get into Aruba its now more attractive for me to take a 9am direct flight whenever possible as its so much easier on the body day one.
My flight down was a breeze. I upgraded to the xtra room seating upon arrival at Logan today. I was able to get into the first row so that meant I was the 3rd one off the plane and through immigration with nobody in front of me. I was at the Ritz within 35 minutes of my air plane door opening...fastest ever! It was great to find out that I had been upgraded from the coastline room I booked to an oceanfront room on the 5th floor which was a great surprise. I booked this trip thru Jetblue travel so I was not expecting to be upgraded upon arrival but it certainly put a big smile on my face. My room is very nice with a terrific view. I went for a 4 or 5 mile walk while waiting for my room to be cleaned. Today's weather is warm with a nice breeze. When I landed the sun was no place to be found but it was out by the time I arrived at the hotel and is shining just fine now.
I will probably dine at the Divi Bar tonight here at the Ritz with my good friend prior to going out to gamble. I am hoping to start the trip right with a nice victory on day one but only time will tell. Off to the beach.
Happy Easter to all of you. Last night I dined at the Divi bar with my friend Sebastian prior to heading out to gamble. Gambling was not profitable but fun for sure. I am getting ready to grab a bite and go for a short walk. I think I may have drank a bit to much last night so I won't do much today but relax.
