When you referred to my casino excursions as a "casino crawl", it brought back memories from about seven or eight years ago here. One of my umpire friends from back home and I were talking about my then upcoming trip. He collects casino chips, so he asked me to pick him up a dollar chip at every casino I visited. I made a "casino crawl" one day from 4pm when the tables opened at Stellaris and then stopped at every casino on Palm Beach, finishing up at The Westin (or maybe even Wyndham, I can't remember what it was at the time). Needless to say with a beer or two at every stop, I was ready to take a cab from Westin back to Playa Linda. THAT was a "casino crawl".

I am too old for that nonsense these days (yeah, right!), but I am going to do something similar. Over the course of the rest on my time here, I am going to try to visit all of the casinos and document the video poker offerings at each casino. I will not, however, try to do it in one night!

I will edit this post as I visit each casino. When I finish editing it and are happy with my changes, I will create a new post on the general forum with my video poker report.

I visited Stellaris this afternoon, so that report will be coming first.

    ----------

    STELLARIS CASINO
Location: Marriott Aruba Resort and Stellaris Casino

16 Game King video poker machines together in a corner. They are to left past the table games if entering from the hotel, the right hand corner if entering from the parking lot. All of these machines seem to have the same menu of different game offerings and selection of denomination from 5-cents up to 5 dollars.

Jacks-or-better pay tables at $1 and $5 level are 7-5-4-3-2-1 (4000 for Royal).

Other games: Deuces Wild, Double Bonus, Joker Poker, Bonus Poker Deluxe, Double Double Bonus, Deuces Wild Bonus Poker, Triple Bonus Poker Plus

There's also 3 Game King machines down the aisle directly behind you if you're standing at the Player's Club desk.
Same offering of games and pay tables as the other games, but it just has 25-cents and $1 as the denominations offered.

There are also some "Super Times Pay" games just getting to the main video poker corner.

The Player's Club card earns you slot points/comps which can be redeemed for food/beverage vouchers at a variety of restaurants on property, or applied to hotel bills, or redeemed for cash back.

So, yesterday was my most typical Aruba day. Woke up too early (before 7:00 am). I have been generally getting to bed ~1:00 am, so it would be nice if I could sleep-in, but old sleeping patterns die hard.

Much of the morning was spent in my unit drinking coffee, checking the internet, updating My Aruba Story, and doing a quick load of laundry. The washer/dryer for my floor is pretty much right next to my unit, so it's easy enough to do a load if I am going spend a few hours hanging in the room.

Got a couple hour pool visit midday and then settled in for an afternoon nap. These couple of hours of sleep, I think, have been more beneficial than my nighttime hours.

Went to The Beach Bar just before sunset and met the nice couple from Michigan that I have encountered quite a few times now. We ending going out to dinner together at Scala in the Paseo Herencia Mall. In my opinion, this is one of the more underrated, "under the radar" restaurants on the island. Meals that I have had here have always been quite good. Last night, I had the Tenderloin Alfredo. It was delicious.

After dinner, I headed over to the Hyatt casino and made a small donation. Left after a short time -- just wasn't feeling it at the casino.

I started my morning today with a visit to Scott's Brats for breakfast. Awesome as always!

No definite plans to do anything but the usual today, but I might make a couple hour jaunt downtown this afternoon or tomorrow.

Have you seen any 8-6 machines on the island anywhere? I have not.
