Missed the Red Sox game. Watch little league instead.
Both kids team lost. Grandson's game was a joke. The refs really needed to get some new glasses. He was making some bad calls.

As expected, I didn't have much opportunity to post during the last portion of my trip. I am now back home reflecting on my trip and thinking about my next one (possibly December).

During the last week of my trip, the casinos beat me up on a regular basis. I guess they were intent on getting back what I won last year! I only had a handful of winning nights during my trip and ended up just a little bit shy of "worst case scenario" as far as my gambling budget was concerned. As a result of my lack of luck, I never followed through with my plan to visit all of the casinos and produce a comprehensive report on the video poker offerings at the various sites.

I had mentioned that my friend (and forum member) came for his 41st visit to Aruba during my last week. His daughter and her friend joined us for the latter portion of the week. We enjoyed showing them the usual sites (lighthouse, Alto Vista chapel, etc.).

We enjoyed some great meals at restaurants during the week....

We visited the new restaurant, Sidebar (at Seaport Mall). The food was great, but the service was extremely slow and seemingly disinterested. Not sure I would go back.

Azzurro (at Playa Linda) was a tremendous meal. Great food and great service. The only bittersweet thing is that we were seated overlooking the pool, which was undergoing demolition. The newly refurbished Playa Linda pool is expected to be finished by the beginning of August.

Chalet Suisse was amazing as always. The food and service here is top-notch time and time again. It's a must visit for me every trip.

Texas de Brazil. It was very good, but I didn't bring the appetite I should have for this meal. You really need to plan to do this restaurant very hungry or you don't get the full appreciation of their offerings.

I traveled back home on Sunday. It was uneventful. I didn't pay too much attention to the timing, because the lines were not long. I think, though, that we made it from curbside to gate in a little under an hour (and that included a bit of time in the duty-free area).

All-in-all, I had a great time, as always, during my 23rd visit to our favorite island. The last half dozen years or so, I have done two weeks in the spring and a week in December, but this trip was three weeks. I must admit that the last few days, I was about ready to return home and get on with my normal existence. Perhaps if the casinos were a little luckier, my view would have been different, but it seems like three weeks is just a little too much for me.

I hope you all enjoyed my trip report as it evolved as an on-going diary. Thanks for following my exploits. I think I have tied up any loose ends that I wanted to talk about.

Now, I will just have to follow other folks' trip reports to get my Aruba fix!

Really enjoyed your reports, thanks for sharing and wrapping up. Sorry your luck in casinos wasn't what you had hoped. Something about Aruba sun and sand does make it easier to nurse our wounds though. Here's hoping December is lucky for both of us!
Not sure when, but we will be back

Thanks for the final installment. Great trip updates. I can only hope that the elusive casino wins don't plague my trip in a couple of months.

We too found the casinos very, very stingy be it slots, VP, tables. We visited most of them at one point or another, and what is frustrating is when you don't hit enough to keep you playing. I knew I was doomed when I put $100 in a machine and had NOT ONE HIT FOR MORE THAN MY WAGER. We did have one good night downtown at Crystal.

I left plenty of money behind. I hope you're able to come along and scoop some of it up!
