    March 6-20 Tamarijn

5:25 AM flight Green Bay to Chicago then non-stop to Aruba. Do love 1st class especially when we had Mimosas during boarding. Very nice flight. First to deplane. Have never come down the escalator to seenot a single person in immigration. Our luggage was the first onto the carriage and we're off to Tamarijn. Checked less than 30 minutes after landing. We're the same room we've had for the past 8 years. Made it until 8 PM but then the body needed to crash. Commented to Mimi at breakfast. That after day 1, it seems like we never left. The staff does treat us well. Many seem just like family. Lots of old friends here already with a big group coming in Monday. Will post more later this evening.

I'll try to recap our first few days. Friday. Was a very nice surprise to seethe rooms have been redone. Fresf paint, new decorations and furniture. Seems to be considerably more drawer space. Took our time unpacking then grabbed a cocktail and walked to the Bunker Bar. This was a treat as last year I was unable to make the walk. Many old friends. Our early rise in the morning had us knowing it would be a short night. Did some light eating from the buffet (no idea what) then off to bed at 8:15.

Saturday. Slept until 8:15! Rained some time during the night. Morning coffee on the patio. This is heaven on earth. Light breakfast and then sun. Took a couple short beach walks and in the water multiple times. So nice when your patio is steps away from the water. Majority of Tamarijn beach has some rocks. Access points can be found. Divi is in good shape but is maybe 50-75 feet narrower than past years. Heavy rain during lunch. Did not have diner reservations but stopped at Gingers to say hello to Camala and she said I'll set a table for you. Mimi had Mango Chicken and I had Mahi Mahi Tokyo Noodles. Both excellent.

Sunday.another great day. Did about a 2 mile beach walk and floated in the ocean for hours. We have both commented how in the early years, the temp always seemed so intense. Now we just take it in stride. Should mention that on Friday, Maxwell a member of the Paparazzi waitstaff, died suddenly of a heart attacked. 16 yr employee and the staff is taking it hard. Diner at Paparazzi. Love the Minestrone soup. Mimi had beef tenderloin on mushroom risotto and I veal cutlets. Took in the evening show, 'The Amazing Circus Awakening'. Show is in it's 5Th season and we have watched it 2 times each year. They did make a few changes but Istill consider it to be one of the best shows on the island. As I write this, I'm on the patio, sipping coffee and watching a cruise ship come in. I think I am in heaven.

Sounds perfect. I'm always amazed at how much the beach changes. We stay at the Divi. One trip the beach was so narrow with the water almost up to the beach bar. The next trip it was a walk to the water! Enjoy!!
