A Mini Vacation in Aruba

My partner and I have returned after a short trip to Aruba and our first trip to Aruba was a breeze due to the message board. We traveled with another couple who stayed the entire week. I had a buddy pass to fly out on Friday May 29th from Philadelphia but I got bumped the agents assured us they could get us out on saturday and we would fly non stop US Air so we bought them lunch and proceeded to get a hotel room close to the airport. Saturday Morning 6 am I was back @ the airport and this time I had a seat we went thru customs and the only thing they confiscated was my sunscreen I forgot it could not be checked in it was to large. grabbed a bite to eat in the airport as we waited for our plan to take off. 4 hours later we were on thappy island went thru customs grabbed our bags we were supposed to pick up our rental car yesterday at general aviation so we went to the Avis at the airport showed our confirmation they told us they had a vehicle and would honor the reservation we just needed to pay the sales tax of 11% we also asked could they extend the rental from saturday to saturday which they agreed. We got our rental and headed to the Marriott Ocean Club. Aruba is Beautiful we got to the Resort and I opened my luggage and yikes I grabbed the wrong bag we have to go back to the airport but it was a quick fix for a mistake so coming back from the airport again we decide might as well go grocery shopping so we stopped in Certified and picked up our alchol and food for the week. I did the following while in Aruba
Layed on the Beach
Walked on the Beach
Went to Baby Beach
Snorkled on the octopus
Dinner @ Hard Rock Cafe
Shopping @ the flea Market
Went to the Casino
Went to Effy Jewelers
Went Dancing @ Mr Jazz

I flew out of Aruba on tuesday and was not bumped so I had to go home

Like everyone else we are planning when we can return to Aruba.

The Food was good one person complained to the waitress about her potatoes they tasted like they came straight out the box the manager came out talked to us and apologized. Our Bill was $111 no drinks but they service was good and I loved the live music he came to every table and took pictures and serenaded every one. I had the salmon and it was cooked to perfection my s/o loved the ribs.

When CindyO and I were in Aruba in April, my 16 year old daughter insisted that we go to Hard Rock for her birthday. While I had no desire to go, it was her birthday....so we did.

I was pleasantly surprised. We sat outside in a nice setting. The food was great and the service was even better. I am shocked that I am sitting here recommending that someone go to a Hard Rock Cafe in Aruba....but I am!
