Funny we saw two ships on Thursday one being Adventure of the Sea... (the other I don't remember)

Dinner was grouper and shrimp at some little place I think Fisherman something..
We did close the night again sitting at the water listening to the music.... talking with the locals.
For a night time snack we order a pizza from Casa Tua.. didn't want a large one.. the locals told us to order a
kid's size. Actually it was more than enough for the both of us. lol

Have to go to work in a bit.. need to save for another trip to Aruba...

    Will finish tomorrow.

Friday we got up early and just walked where the crowd was. Figure that is where the action was happening...
When we got closer never saw any police till then. The whole island police force had to be there...
Shortly afterwards we did see some actions... we end up seeing the King and Queen enter a building with their body guards and another young couple.
Wasn't able to capture a picture at that time... however when they left the building we did. (We have son help me post pictures this week of them and the military personal)
They did not talk to the public but said hello to some school children.

Asked a local police officer how does one royalty comes to the island. He told us that they were given an invitation for today being their "Labor Day"
and they accepted. They plan on spending the day on the island but most of it was kept a secret due to their safety.

We then walked over to the pier where they had some activities; such as craft tables, lots of different local foods, soups and etc.
Tried some awesome homemade soup being sold to help with some baseball (Marvins) was very hearty and yummy with homemade bread.
OMG... food is better then a cruise ship.

Brought more spices, some chocolates, Speculaas cookies.. to die for. A holland spice cookie and told everyone that they weren't that good.. lol
offer them one, but since I made a face eating one, the all declined. Especially when it said "spiced cookie" lol

All the stores where closed again.. we headed for Happy Hour again at the Renn.... yep you guess Aruba Ariba... really needed to buy the coecoei
and the manager sold me a bottle all gift wrap and all. Later bought more at the duty free store.

After some more apps at happy hour we headed back to the Renn MarketPlace for more activities that was happening. Lot's of live music, cotton candy ... yes got some for pics to send to kids.. then gave it away to some kids. lol
    Free movies over the pier.
End up eating some of the local stands from the festival. Sample every thing that was so yummy.

Watched the fireworks on the pool deck with yet another drink in our hands. Dam, I never had two, three four drinks a day. Must be something about Aruba.

Again we had such a good time, doing nothing but relaxing and enjoying our "freedom." No mum, mimi, Nurse Cathi... and etc.

It is Saturday and must get to the airport.... Our flight did not leave till 12:25 but decided we better get out there early before all the activities continues..
We got to Southwest by cab only charged us $18.00 cheaper there than back. Got to the check in with a few people ahead of us at 8:45 am.. had to wait till 9:30 for them to check us in.
After getting checked in we went through security, got our luggage to recheck them again..
Prior to going through customs we went to the first duty free store and end up buying a few more bottles of stuff.. the gal told us she will meet us through the customs and we won't have to claim this. okay she knows best.
Bought some more coecoei 4... need my fixed till I can get back, and half the price the hotel charged me but I was still happy I got it.
This was the only free duty that had it in stock.. so buy you stuff there before getting to the gate areas.
Also got some 3 Ponche Aruba pistachio liqueur, 3 curaco blue..,2 banana liqueur, 3 Mount Gay Rum . Spent more here that on the kids in the island. (Don't know why I bought so much... but I always have an extra nice gift for somebody handy... )
Once we got through the last customs, the lady from the duty store was there waiting for us with "our boxes" of stuff. So glad that we check everything in and only carried on my lap top. Made it easier to get on the plane.

As for getting my havanna rum I just wrapped it up in bubble wrap for wine and wrapped in again in a towel. Made it home safe too...lol

Going through all of this was such a breeze. We end up in terminal 3 by 10:15 am (just seemed so fast for all we did) and that was getting a breakfast and more coffee.

Had to wait in gate 3 area till the doors open up for terminal one.

Our plane was not full cause I did ask prior... told Lou to take the outside seat while I took the window seat with my boxed on the middle seats (knowing nobody wants to sit in the middle) and would move my boxes once I was told by the flight attendants...
Well I did not make any eye contact with anyone that walked by... looked busy playing on my phone....

We took off with the middle seat being empty.. very nice too for more space. Did do early bird check in and others too. But notice only one person in their group would buy it and hold 5 seats for is family with objects on them.

We ended up getting to MCO thirty minutes early... think again they were flying..
End up paying the $5.00 fee for a luggage cart and gave it to a family to use when we were done with it.

Aruba again, was one of my favorite vacations I took. Yes, I would be going there again... and hate to say I did like the downtown a little better.
Enjoyed the private island.. just felt like a very quite place to hang out on.

Yes, Cindy when I am ready to go again in 2016... we be contacting you...

Thank you everyone for reading this .... could go on for ever but did not want to bore you anymore...

    Cathi

cathi/bradybear..thanks so much for all of your reports! much appreciated.
i know that like me, you are a frequent cruiser. (florida resident rates for cruising is a no brainer)
however i prefer aruba over any cruise.

so, will you cut back the cruises and replace with aruba?

Yes, I will cut back on the cruises... however we will do one in January as I already booked 11 days. (Christmas.. gift nobody knows yet) But the kids will get
their little tease of Aruba then.
Aruba was so much better than a cruise. No time frame. As Lou and I were saying the first time ever did we not say "it is sure nice being home."
Didn't even wanted to leave the island... as a cruise once it is over you do look forward to going home..
We will have to wait till mid 2016 for another Aruba trip unless I win the lottery.. lol

Also this forum is so much nicer then Cruise Critics... nobody thinks they are better than others. No negative comments. Everyone treats everyone else as if they were friends forever. Very nice..... and best no questions or comments are looked as if one is an idiot.
    Thank you all for that...

Will just rent vs buying time share.. since we can't leave for a long time with two school kids.
