I feel your pain on the lost camera. I was on a flight back to the states from Aruba about a year or so ago. We were on a United flight to Dulles. It was myself, my daughter and her babysitter. We were all in first class and left my camcorder there on accident upon leaving the plane. We went back to the plane but it was gone already. The sickening part was it was a 1200 dollar video camera that I just got. I called Dulles airport and United and nobody found the camera. :-(

Things certainly have changed, when we first traveled to Aruba that was unheard of. You can replace the camera not the photo's, sorry to hear about your camera.

I'm sorry you lost your very expensive video camera. That really stinks.

Maybe the bartenders kept it thinking you come back for it. It could be sitting behind the bar. I would check with them again.

I'm home now (left Aruba 2 weeks today). But I did check the next morning before I checked-out).

Two years ago we got into a taxi at the Hyatt and there was a camera on the seat. We told the driver and he immediately drove to Casa Tua (only 2 minutes away fro the Hyatt) where he had dropped off his last fare. I gave the woman back her camera (which she didn't even realize she had lost) and her reaction and gratitude was worth more than any amount of money. All of her trip pictures of her 1 year old were on there and she would have lost them all.

I agree, how do some people even sleep at night after taking someone's property?

Thanks Shelly. It's what I would expect and hope anyone else would do. My wife and felt good all during dinner thinking about the smile on the woman's face.

I like to think there are more good people than bad. I have gotten lucky 2x when losing valuables...

    1) 8 years ago we took a trip to Jamaica. We took a cab to the resort and I was so excited to arrive I left $700 cash, my passport, drivers license, credit cards and a camera in the cab. About 5 minutes after arriving I realized what happened and went into panic. The hotel was able to locate the cab and he returned with everything!

    2) 3 weeks ago I was playing softball with my company. My wedding ring and ipod were in my bag - but must have fallen out. I noticed it was missing and started freaking out and looking around. About 10 minutes later - a girl came down to the dugout asking if anyone lost a ring and an iPod. She found it under a tree all the way across the park. I couldnt beleive she went all over looking for the owner. Durning my panic - I was coming up with excuses to tell my wife where my ring went. I actually was thinking about having one of my colleagues punch me in the eye so I could tell my wife I was mugged. haha

ah that sucks, I lost my camera on vacation last year also! Got off the plane in Cancun, took the shuttle to the resort in Playa, got settled, jumed in the ocean and lost my camera about 10 seconds after I entering the water! On the bright side, after about an hour or so of looking for my camera, I found my room key card!! :/
