Let me start by saying my wife, 5yr old and myself just returned from the most amazing vacation of our lifetime! We returned to the Ritz Carlton for our second stay with them, our first was in April, and it was our 11th on the island overall. We were originally scheduled to stay for one week BUT we were having the time of our life so I extended the trip the day before we were suppose to leave for another 5 nights, great decision.
The service at the Ritz was amazing. Let me share a couple of the incredible experiences we had this trip, and I am leaving out the most amazing part because it was so remarkable I prefer not to share, other than to say the thoughtfulness, planning and execution to pull it off was impressive, and much appreciated by all 3 of us. I will just say thanks Sebastian, you really out did yourself!
First a little background. We met Sebastian in April during our last stay. We had the pleasure of having Sebastian as our waiter at Soliano 3 times on our first stay @ the Ritz, my son really grew attached to him. He brought CJ into the kitchen to make a chef’s hat, and he still wears it at home with pride. When returned of course we went to Soliano to see Sebastian and enjoy another great meal. Unfortunately, Sebastian had the day off so we could not have him that day. They looked up his schedule and said he would be in 2 days. We said no problem, we will eat there again when he is working. Our son was a bit bummed but no worries we will see him in a couple of days. So as we are sitting outside eating enjoying our meal, who comes strolling up but Sebastian and his dog Sasha. Aswaldo called him to tell him CJ was back in Aruba and asking for him. So what does Sebastian do? He leaves his family and comes out of nowhere as we are sitting outside. This was the most amazing thing! He had no reason to come in on his day off, but wow!
Another amazing example is when they brought out a table and all the fixings you could imagine so my son could “create” his own personal pizza with the head chef. They allowed my son to make his own pizza exactly the way he wanted, and allowed him to make one for Sebastian as well. After he prepared the pizzas they also brought him into the kitchen to watch them put the pizza into the oven. The ingredients are amazing because each pizza my son made was great, lol. GREAT touch, thanks Chef Stanwick, and Sebastian for making that happen.
Everything we ate at Solanio was Amazing. We had the following meals during our visit- some multiple times they were so good. Lobster Ravioli, Mushroom Ravioli, Filet- best beef ever, Chicken Parm, Fusilli Tartufo, and of course pizza. Their Caesar and Solanio salads were also terrific. Everything from the food to the service gets a rating off the charts.
We did lunch at the pool most days from Madero. The food and service was excellent as well. We had a variety of things from their incredible fish tacos to burgers/fries. The food at the Divi lounge was very tasty. We had sushi, burgers, shrimp and all were nice. The burger was one of the best ive had in a while, having great views out the window huge floor to ceiling windows was a nice bonus as well.
I can’t say enough about the service @ the Ritz, it is not just one of the employees, its EVERYONE from Maritza the wonderful women who took care of our room and helped with anything we needed, to the best waiter in the world, and even a better person, Sebastian. Other people who made our trip special include the great staff at the Ritz Kids, my 5yr old son CJ LOVED the ladies, thanks Maryann, Laydi, Sherri and Abigail, they took care of him incredibly well, so well he would whine when we came to get him saying he wanted to stay longer. Special thanks to EVERYONE at Soliano (I know I probably forgot a name or two, sorry) from Carina who greeted us 5 different nights this trip with a great warm welcome back, to Giovanna who was in charge most evenings, Kennith (spelling), manager Maurice Tax, and of course Chef Stanwick who is an amazing chef! The memories you created for my family are priceless, and will never be forgotten, thanks!
The following at Madero put a smile on my sons face each day- Gregory at Madero (aka aqua man), Gwen, Yanaka and the “other” Sebastian. Julie, Harold, David, and Eric around the pool or around property each day. Thanks to Rossetti for helping us extend our trip as well. It was the best hour on hold Ive spent in my life with expedia.
The fact that I can easily recall 20 names of people who really made this trip special says everything you need to know about the ladies and gentleman @ the Ritz. Aruba is a terrific island with amazing people. The group they have put together at the Ritz Carlton is second to none. We will see you next July when we renew our vows after 20 years.

We also ate at Bugaloe a couple of times and enjoyed ourselves. We ate at the outdoor place at the Hyatt so my son could run around, the name escapes me. We at at Casa Tua and that was good per usual. We had lunch from Laguna at the Marriott and that was good, couple of sandwiches from the Marriott and everything else was from the Ritz.
The Divi lounge is at the Ritz- the main bar area....
We toured the lighthouse, chapel and went to the zoo as well. The trip was incredible to say the least. I miss it....I have priced going back in Feb during school break and hope to be able to make that happen...need to start saving quickly
The beach was nice. Lots of room with 2 big sections. The water was a bit clearer than over at the Marriott even though they are really close. The staff will set your chairs up with a towels...son likes the pool more but the beach was nice overall.
The Ritz certainly did earn our repeat business, I am going thru Ritz withdrawals at home
