Made it to the beach at 1030am and Ms Daisy got in the water for 1 hour. She really loves the beach and hates pools except the hot Jacuzzi.

A little off topic but Ms Daisy had a terrible accident at age 39 while pregnant with me. She worked in a factory and got her arm caught in some machinery and could not reach the emergency switch. She was screaming for help but no one could hear her with all the machines running. Finally a foreman spotted her and turned the machine off. She lost a lot of skin and blood requiring blood transfusions. The doctor told my dad that she had a 50/50 shot at survival but most likely the baby would die. We both made it and here we are in Aruba. My dad passed away in 87 at 61 and from his death bed he asked me to take care of my Mom.

Back to Aruba, tonight we dined at Las Ramblas at La Cabana. Their menu is limited but they grill all cuts of steaks and seafood and you dine outdoors overlooking Eagle Beach across the street. I had a surf and turf which was a petite filet mignon with shrimp, bacon wrapped scallops and mashed potatoes. Ms Daisy had the paella which she really enjoyed but she kept bringing up MJ. I guess she really enjoyed MJ yesterday.

Tonight she lost at the casino. She was lucky during the week where she could stay on the same machine for an hour on $20 and then put another $20 and play for another hour and leave with $50. Well that luck changed tonight. She played around 6 different machines and no winning or long play. I think she lost around $60 but she enjoyed herself and say she will be back tomorrow for a rematch.

Well tomorrow is my last full day so I hope to make the most of it.

Day 7 6/25 The end of the road.

It's been cloudy all day and it rained hard a few times this morning. The pool was pretty empty I guess because of the weather and a lot of people checking out. I ran out of food and booze supplies but no worries we ate breakfast at the islanders grill, I hung out at the pool, 2 long Island ice teas which gave me a strong buzz and I ordered Quesadillas for lunch which were very good.

I did laundry and started packing yesterday evening so I could take it easy on my last day. My flight tomorrow leaves at 1235pm so I expect an easy check in with customs. I chose an early flight to avoid long lines to make it easier for Ms Daisy. Hopefully all goes well.

Tonight dinner is at Quinta De Carmen and one more casino day for Ms Daisy.

I will finalize my trip when I get back to the states. Thanks for reading.

Islander Grill sounds like a nice, easy spot when staying at Lacabana. It seems pretty consistent.
Thanks for sharing your trip! Good luck to Ms. Daisy tonight!
Not sure when, but we will be back

I have so enjoyed your reports. Yes, you are a special son and I think it is fabulous your Mum can vacation with you at 91. I only hope I can do the same. She has been blessed to have you. I know you feel the same about her. I also have a great son and I know he will take care of me. So glad you had a grand time and was able to share your adventures with us.

Well I hailed a cab for dinner and I told him QDC. He dropped me off at MJs! I was thinking could this be a sign? I was almost tempted to get out but I told the cab driver hey I said QDC he said oh that's right I'm sorry.

Ms Daisy noticed the resemblance of QDC and MJs as far as court yard setting. We started off with Manhattan's and the waiter suggested a different brand of bourbon I never heard of but it was tasty. Then I asked for the crispy shrimp to share. It brings 10 shrimps on a a bed of mixed greens so he divided it into 2 plates 5 and 5. I thought that was classy because most places will just bring the full plate and you have to both pick on it. They were delicious! For dinner I had the Cajun rib eye and Ms Daisy had the rack of lamb. My rib eye was ok but kind of flavorless. It says seasoned with Cajun spices but it tasted like any ordinary rib eye. The yogurt sauce made it taste better. I helped Ms Daisy with the lamb and it was wonderful.

Our waiter was very attentive but I got the feeling he was trying to up sell us from the start. Like with Manhattan oh you don't want Makers Mark I will get you something better. Before I even tasted the Manhattan he was asking if I was going to buy a bottle of wine. When I finished the Manhattan he asked if I wanted a glass of wine with my steak and I said yes Carbernet Sauvignon and he said, I will get you my favorite. Which was $14 a glass and the Manhattan was $11. I don't know maybe I got used to casual dining but I felt uncomfortable there. It was a different experience than the first time. I felt more comfortable at MJs. The food tasted better and huge portions, great services without making you feel uncomfortable or up selling.

I'm actually surprised with this second visit to QDC.

Tonight Ms Daisy broke even at Glitz casino and we are checking out tomorrow at 900am for our 1230pm flight.

I will wrap it up when I get home.

I am sorry to hear that you felt that QDC was trying to "up sell".
Not the first time that I have read this about QDC.

Glad to hear that MS Daisy broke even tonight.
I consider breaking even a win!

Safe and easy travels tomorrow Ed. Enjoy and I hope that you do get back there in November.

I am glad you had a great trip. I would not be "happy" with being up sold either, I typically know what I want....
