Day 4. Woke up refreshed! I went out for a 40 minute walk and I felt so energetic. Ate breakfast in the room and headed to the beach at 1030. At that time there are only 1 or 2 huts left and this is the off season so I can only imagine what it's like during peak season. Left the beach at 2pm and went to my room for lunch. I still have not been in the pool but I plan to tomorrow.

For dinner I had reservations at pinchos for 7pm. I left at 6 and was there at 620 which was good because I got a great table with the best view. We had the fish cakes for appetizer with a glass of white wine. My entry was the grilled conch which was excellent. My mom had the stuffed Apple pork which she enjoyed. This was the best meal I had so far. I have been going to new rest every day so its been a nice experience and change of palate and scenary. They automatically charge the tip at pinchos at 15 percent so I gave an additional 5 percent as cash.

No casino today. When I got back to la cabana I went inside the casino to look around but there were not many people there. I don't think I will gamble there and will stick to allahambra. I had coffee in the lobby at cinabon with a cinnamon cake. Then it was off to the room.

So that's my lazy days report for today.

Day 5. I did not go for my walk but more of the same sun, beach and chill beer. Dinner was at Barneys and I had the Dutch grouper which was to die for! My mom had a mix platter of chicken, sausage, steak and ribs. She said the ribs fell of the bone and very tasty. Prices very reasonable. What a hidden gem!

We went to the casino at last cabana and she won 30 bucks.

Ok I'm ready to go home now. NOT!!!!

Day 6 9/25. Pure lazy day at the beach from 10am to 2 pm. Ate lunch at the pool from la cabana grill and had a couple of frozen drinks. Dinner was also at last cabana grill. I just did not feel like going out. Afterwards went to the casino at la cabana and made my donation.

Day 7 9/26. Oh no last day! Woke up and went out for a 30 minute walk. I needed it as I had not walked the last 2 days. However I had been swimming every day at the beach doing laps from 1 red buoy to another and back. Spent 1.5 hours in the water today and up to my room at 2pm for lunch. It poured when I got to my room but it was a passing shower.

I'm currently washing clothes and will start packing. Dinner tonight will be either at lg smith, chalet suisse or matthews. I can't make up my mind!

I will let u know tomorrow how it goes with customs.

So I had dinner at chalet suisse for my last night. Why not it's within walking distance of la cabana. The service is always top notch in this restaurant starting with the matre d Benny, waiter, cocktail waitress and food servers. The wine selection is good and they make great martinis. I had the filet mignon Magadester and it was ok. Actually ive had a better steak at matthews which came with 4 giant garlic shrimps for the same price and the steak was better. It was kind of ruff cutting the steak and filet mignon is usually tender. My mom had the rack of lamb and they were great and plentiful.

Overall my best meal of the whole vacation was the grouper at Barneys and the grilled conch at ponchos.

Well I'm all pack and will leave at 9am to catch a 1230 flight to NY tomorrow.

Left La Cabana at 9am and I was at the airport by 930. I had a 1230 flight to NY with Jet Blue. Im happy to report that check in, aruba custom, US custom all took 1 hour exactly. It was a breeze. I notice people at the delta check in on line but they were not opened.

So I hung out at the one happy Island bar by terminal 1 to 5. The guys who work there are like a live it's Saturday night comedy team. They are always joking and goofing withdrawals each other and the customers. One of them asked me for id before they would serve me and I was so gullible to take out my id and the whole bar was laughing because they were joking. They give you a free luggage tag with the name of their bar when they give you the bill. They are really nice people.

Anyway I made it home safe and sound. Until next year's trip!
