I agree Andrea, they make us feel really special when we are here and we appreciate it immensely. Harold by the pool never gets into my posts but he is so great with the kids, especially mine, lol. He is always looking out for my son, its really nice. Harold is another one of the Ritz staff that could get an invite to my house in Mass, our "FRIEND" Sebatian and his lovely wife will be coming to stay with us prior to the Holidays next year when they come to the States for the 1st time.
I am not the type that extends invites, even to close friends typically...but these people are not typical, lol.
Hmmmmm, party in Mass.?
Glad you're enjoying your vacation at the Ritz. Love reading them. Hope the casino was kind.
They have some lovely kids working there on their internships from Holland.
When do you head back?
Cindy, got crushed again playing cards, oh well. I have given back the winnings from last trip for sure. We go home on Sunday. Today is our last "big" night on the island. We will go out to BLT, I am ready for a great filet.
This trip is flying bye to quickly for me. Couple more days of fun in the sun and then back to the cold, yuk!
I stopped by to see Tiffany last night but I was to late, and I stopped by this AM and she was in a meeting. Her assistant Gail was nice enough to come out and talk to us. I asked her to pass on my thanks to Tiffany. She is a busy women running a great hotel....I don't need to take up her time, I just wanted to say thanks!
Ok, here is what they have tonight on the club level. First let me say if I did not have dinner reservations at BLT tonight, I would not have stopped eating the Lobster Mac & cheese- it was AMAZING!!!!! They also had chicken pot pie, meatloaf, crackers and cheese, marinated salmon, waldorf, brie apple walnut, mixed salad, chips, nuts and grilled veg as always.
I have never had Lobster mac and cheese, mac and cheese typically does not excite me...but wow was it incredible!
We have eaten approx 120 dinners in Aruba but tonight was our best meal yet, maybe because it was our first meal at BLT Steakhouse? We requested Gwen who we just adore, her and her soon to be husband (eddie) are just awesome, they both work at the Ritz. We started with the most amazing shrimp cocktail ever. The shrimp were the size of small lobsters, lol. Not only were the shrimp huge but they were the most tasty shrimp I have ever had. We then both had the Filet and lobster on top- amazing! The service and food were excellent. I am glad to have had my first Aruba BLT experience and it wont be our last. We will renew our vows this summer in Aruba and will celebrate after with an incredible meal at BLT- this place can't be missed if you enjoy great service and even better food.

I am sitting on the balcony drinking my last drink on the island this trip listening to a live band playing- They are playing Hall and Oats, you make my dreams come true. I am thinking its a wedding, I just started to listen after packing. They are actually very good, now they are playing the Monkees- I am a believer....

Our last meal was at Solanio. Tonights post wont be about the food, it was good as always, its more about the experience.
We had Eddie tonight who we really like, we had his finance last night at BLT (ask for Gwen at BLT). He was excellent tonight, and super nice as always. During our meal he asked me if I had my phone, and my response was no, why? He said the sun is going to be in a perfect spot in a few minutes and I wanted to take a family picture for you guys....I said that is a great offer and I really appreciate it. A second later he took out his phone and invited us outside to take the family picture and will send it along to us.
Eddie is a great guy, he an a couple of the other staff members who have become our friends are actually trying to help us plan our vow renews with thoughts and ideas, special, right? We are not hiring anyone to do it, we are just going to find someone to do our vows on the beach then celebrate with friends. We would like to be able to support the church that one of our friends goes to here on the island...We have small list of people here that will receive invites and will be asked to celebrate with us after at BLT- These people have made another trip so special its almost hard to believe.
I am in awe of the love and warmth the people of Aruba are able to express to what less than 2 years ago were complete strangers. These people are a part our life, they have become friends that have open invites to our home in the States. I will actually miss not seeing their smiling faces, their energy is contagious.
