on our way back from ren island......less than 1 mile from island to ocean suites an as we were going across the channel we had a black cloud overhead and a few drops of rain.....the black cloud was surrounded by blue sky with white puff clouds.

weather is sometimes very different depending where you are..........but with the tradewinds, it changes real quickly.

Thanks for continuing to keep us posted. We have our fingers crossed that all those weather reports for the next 5 - 7 days are incorrect or that it rains mostly at night. The reports have changed a little and it looks like there will be at least a couple of great days full of sunshine over the next 8 days. I am keeping tabs on the link you provided to the local weather reports but of course it only shows the next three days. Anyway .... I am sure we will have fun either way. By the way ..we are splitting our time between the Marriot Stellaris and the Renaissance Ocean Suites so your reports are fantastic ! You said the private island was very crowded yesterday, how was it today?

    a difficult day

Starting off by saying how sad I am about the loss of Lisa's Mom, Mrs Viera and then an email from Bully about his Mom passing too.
Both women died within 15 minutes of each other.

    So, moods are very sad

    Today, Friday

Spent the better part of the day at Ren Island.
Was pretty crowded on the "family side" but still lounges available.
    Sun clouds, sun and clouds.......glorious.
    breezes not so much today.

dinner was stuffed peppers and caesar salad. stuffed peppers from home, brought here frozen and salad from the Kitchen!

    donation to the Crystal Casino.

3 drops of rain mid afternoon

downpour at about 9 pm lasted 10 minutes.

Sorry to hear about the passing of both ladies. I know however that even though loved ones on Earth will miss them one day they will all be together. Now there are more Angels.

Maybe that guy from the 50s Lil Abner comics was on your boat. Remember the guy that always had a dark rain cloud over his head? Joe Btfsplk or something like that.

Andrea - my husband and I were giggling over the "3 raindrops", he wants to know who counted them (LOL).....just wondering how the dreaded mosquitos are behaving? I always bring my bug spray anyway, just curious.

just a minute to write before i hop in the shower
today we opened our 2nd can of OFF spray.
At Renaissance Island, the mosquitos are terrible before 9:30 am.
(typically we are there before 8:30 and stay til 2 or 3)
    AND
the flies are pretty terrible on and off during the day on the island, especially near the open air restaurant.

OFF does work and if you think you will only need one can, bring 2.Your beach neighbors WILL be borrowing.

AND.........i am tan and have been using #50 ALDIS and Banana Boat suncreen spray (aerosol)
We just finished our 2nd can.

    Gotta run,
today I am going to TAKE A NAP.

thanks Andrea for the info on both bug spray and sun tan lotion. I always assumed the mosquitos were only bad at night, interesting that they are so bad in am. I suppose it makes sense as most of the rain comes at night while we are sleeping. I am a mosquito magnet so will make sure to use lots of spray. Hope you are well rested after your nap to enjoy your evening
