    Monday Nov 12

Weather......partly to mostly cloudy today, limited sun in the downtown area, but i felt no raindrops

We spent half the day at Ren island and then came back to spend a few hours lagoonside here at the Ren Suites.

Lots of clouds on and off but that did not rule out sunburn...... i did not apply it on my ears today yes you can burn thru the clouds.

Went to the Amsterdam Manor for happy hour and met up with Amy S, Stella and Sugar (kathy). Had a nice chat. About 10 others from another bulletin board were over on the otherside, but they were doing their own thing.

Dinner with some friends at Driftwood........not as wonderful as i remembered.
The four of us had barracuda grilled and very plain and it was good, not great. It was crowded and cramped. Service was good, but boy was it hot in there. We could not wait to eat and get out, due to the heat. Our server and the hostess both said the air conditioning was working fine.

Made a very small profit playing craps at the Crystal and just wanted to get out and come back here to read!

No plans tomorrow other than Renaissance Island and a Stuart Woods audiobook.

2 HAL cruise ships in today. Downtown was busy!

Hope your little ears are ok, I'm surprised my ears never burn I never think to put lotion there and always have my hair up. May have to start doing this

Souds like you are having ok luck at the casinos, any profit or break even is a good thing. I predict a large winfall soon for you Not sure if you play slots but I always do good on the Cops and Donuts machine. I talked someone into playing it last year he did great!

Hope you enjoy your adio books, my hubby loves those books. My hubby is a truck driver and uses them all day. Library in town does not have a huge selection and it is getting harder and harder for him to find new ones. He too is a Start Woods reader or should I say listener (LOL)

Enjoy your last week and slow down a bit to enjoy if you can :-)

    tuesday nov 13

    perfect weather day!
consistent breezes and a few passing white puffy clouds.
we spent the better part of the day in the ocean.

spent later afternoon back here at renaissance ocean suites pool.

(moderator hat off for a minute here.............why the HECK do people smoke IN the pool? why the HECK are people also drinking out of glass bottles and glass on the pool deck? there are a group of people here that congregate in the pool all floating around all holding ash trays in one hand and ciigarette in another??
apparently it is allowed because security walks by, staff walk by and no one says a word to these people. leaves me speechless and the smell is offensive and the fear of broken glass is always a concern
    )

dinner tonight was Buccaneer. our 2nd time there this trip.
Paul had rack of lamb that he felt was way better than MJs and less expensive.
I had seafood paella that was very good.

stopped at Lings to buy some cat food of course, i am feeding a couple of gorgeous kittys here.

drove by super food..........looked in, they are getting close.
items are on the shelves, shopping cards are locked up in corrals in the parking lot, seems like now finishing touches are being added.

Totally agree with you about the glass at the pool. We witnessed people doing this at the Divi during our last trip. They even brought their wine glasses into the pool!!! They just don't think. If the glass breaks then the pool gets drained and everyone suffers. That said, I'm glad you are enjoying your vacation. You've got me thinking about trying the Bucaneer on our next visit. We were so lazy last trip we never left the resort.

Smoking in the pools? That is pretty gross if you ask me, and as far as the glass bottles etc. that is just an accident waiting to happen. Oh well, there are all types of people some just need a little more common sense put into their pea brains Enjoy your last few days in paradise Andrea & hubby!

I am just picturing cigarette ashes blowing in the Aruba breeze...gross! My husband is a smoker and I can't stand it. He tries to be considerate but that smell travels. He does try to go off by himself in generally non-smoking areas. I can't imagine the nerve of people to smoke in the pool!
And the glass - it seems like common sense, but its amazing how many people lack it.
Not sure when, but we will be back
