    Nov 21 to Dec 14

So we arrived Tuesday, immigration a breeze, getting our one box from luggage a breeze, line for customs "priceless". The line was very long and everyone was getting scanned but we think it was pretty much anyone who wasn't Aruban or American. When we got to the front of the line, asked where we were from and waived us through. Got to Hans to pick up car and found a new back way to get to super foods, no traffic. Got a sim card from Digicell, ugh.

that night ate at Casa Tua, went to Ritz to gamble, broke even.

wednesday went for a morning walk from Arashi Beach to lighthouse to see the sunrise, beautiful. When we got back to our car at Arashi, it was 7:30 and already palapas were filling up. Oh, they had a portion of beach cordoned off for the turtles. Never saw that before, don't know when they are suppose to hatch.

The beach was packed, I mean packed. But it was a gorgeous day in Aruba. Went to Bugaloe's for dinner and then I went shopping a bit, went to the Hyatt and stopped at Ritz on way home. Today we walk from Arashi to Ritz for our daily walk, put our stuff on a palapa by 7:00. Then we have to go to Digicell because apparently they are having trouble with the sim cards and we were told at digicell by superfoods that alot of people are having problems so we have to go to the real digicell office, she called them and they said its the card. We'll see. Next time we deal with Setar.

Tonight we are going to Matthew's for dinner.

Gaby, what time did you arrive on Tuesday. We got in around 12:45; no line or scanning just walked right through after getting our luggage.

Did you like the Ritz casino? We’re planning on going there either tonight or tomorrow.

    Happy Thanksgiving,

Peg, we got in at 3:30. There were two planes from Newark, our airport because the one an hour before us, left ten minutes before us. There were flights from south america. But they seemed to waive the americans through. Unfortunately we did still have to stand in line.

we like gambling at the ritz. There aren't a ton of slots, DH plays blackjack, i do slots. But the casino is large and roomy, not smokey. Also, drinks come faster in actual glasses with actual liquor in them, lol.

DH went for a walk without me today, i am taking a break since i walked the strip last night. Oh, you know what I found out? They do black friday here, too. I never do black friday home because i don't have a straight jacket wish but after i drop hubby off to the beach tomorrow, i am shopping in the morning.

as Peg can attest to, still great here. Met quite a few newcomers on the plane, quite a few. The main thing they wanted to know was how the people were here, the Arubans. So I explained they are genuinely nice, not superficial and will go out of their way to help you if you need directions or help. Perhaps they had bad experiences on other islands. But that was the fisrt question they asked.

going to digicell at 9:00 to hopefully clear this up, get a new sim card. I didn't do my phone cause i have internet here at the house. I will suggest anyone coming to get setar instead. The woman at cellular said they are updating lines and the sim cards seem to be having trouble. Hopefully iy will be fixed but i wouldn't count on it being soon, maybe a few months. It isn't just us. Met a few locals who said they have digicell and it has been so spotty the past couple of months (won't repeat their exact words, lol)

ok, that's it for now. Did i mention that I Love Aruba!

It’s interesting what a differnce a few hours can make at the airport. Thanks for your thoughts on the Ritz. I’m a slot player as well. As long as I find one machine I like I’m good. PAC Man was fun at the Glitz and Fu Da Lau is always fun at Alhambra

    good luck at Digicell.

I think Tuesday and Wednesday beaches were more crowded than usual with cruise ship passengers. That was our experience. Looking forward to your reports as we sit in the crying room.
Not sure when, but we will be back

The crying room is awful! Did you upgrade to the lounge to relax and grab a few drinks despite the early hour?

Have a great trip Gaby and enjoy the drinks at the Ritz....they are the best on the island as they do use real alcohol unlike some locations to be nameless-

In my opinion, the Ritz is the best place to gamble. Tomorrow I am officially starting my routine shopping, lol. Just came back from the beach to make some frozen daiquiris.

i noticed the beach just starting to thin out. We met some people on the beach from the ships and they added Aruba cause originally they were suppose to do St. Martin. Anyway it is time to go back.

    Keep ypu posted.

Nah, we started our detox. The early morning flight to Miami isn't bad, it's the only US departure in the morning.
Not sure when, but we will be back
