    October 2 - 23

As an Aruba.com daily silent stalker, I want to thank everyone for taking the time to post. I really enjoy this site and now that we are in Aruba, I will do my best to share a little of Aruba with you. We left Az on a red eye Friday evening a 11 and arrived in Aruba at 12:30 on Saturday. I was shocked when I saw that they were holding us upstairs because customs was so backed up but all things considered, we were in our rental car and on our way to LaCabana by 1:30. The room wasn't ready so we of course went down to the pata pata bar to have a few and little by little several of our friends we have met over the years started coming in. It is just so nice to see everyone and more to come the end of this week. Went to Super Foods to pick up a few things, dinner from the Islander grill and after a long travel day, in bed by 8:30.

Bob (DH) headed down Sunday morning to get our favorite palapa at 6 am. Not a cloud in the sky, beautiful breeze and our first trip in the water and aaah, we're officially here! The water was calm, clear and refreshing. Hung at the beach until around 3, headed up to the room and out to fishes and more for dinner that evening. DH tried the sea bass for the first time. It came with grilled asparagus and potatoes. I got fried grouper that was so delicious, served with mixed vegetables and potatoes. DH said his meal was good but my grouper was better. Overall, very enjoyable meal. Went to Alhambra and DH hit a royal flush while I deposited my money at the casino. We came home with $1200.00 thanks to DH so vacation is off to a very good start!

Spent the day at the beach again on Monday and again, another gorgeous day, white sand, clear water, breezy and beautiful! Went to Bavaria last night for dinner with another couple. The guys had the rolled beef (can't remember the German name for it) and it came with the little German noodles and red cabbage. I had potato pancakes, noodles and sauerkraut and my friends wife had the pork schnitzel which came with noodles and gravy. We all enjoyed our meal and the staff gave exceptional customer service. We even had our pictures taken with German hats and aprons on. A fun time had by all. Made a small deposit at the Glitz last night and in the room by 11:30. Another great day in Aruba.

Tuesday - DH already down at the beach getting our palapa. Another beautiful breezy day today. Will post again soon and hopefully not boring you since we pretty much have the same routine everyday. The hardest part is deciding where to go for dinner and what casino to visit.

That's a long travel day...... with a happy ending! I love the 'same routine' every day..... beach, dinner and then the casino. Enjoy your stay, keep us posted and thanks for posting. BTW... anyone who hits a royal flush is a 'hero' of mine!

I laughed out loud to the reference of being a "silent stalker" on Aruba.com. I watched/read posts on the forum for years before I made my first post. :-) I really enjoyed your post above and look forward to future updates on your trip. Have a delightful vacation. (life's at ease near an ocean breeze)
