Thanks for sharing. Bavaria does sound like fun and I see on their website that they have a wide variety of German Beer. I'm not that much into beer but once in a while I enjoy a nice cold pint on those hot days..Keep posting.

Hi all, I'm the bob in azchrisnbob. Ace2063, Bavaria has a great selection of beers. I asked the owner, Peter, what he would recommend with my meal. He brought me an ale that was light but flavorful and then a dark that went well with the beef roll. Outstanding. That was my very first royal flush and it was fun. I want to do that again, but I think the casinos have other ideas.

OK chris, I'll turn it back to you.

Tuesday continued - another beautiful day at the beach. The weather was perfect except for later in the afternoon when the wind gusts picked up but otherwise gorgeous. Reservations were made for 7:30 at Barney's for 5 of us. 2 of us had the build your burger which was absolutely delicious. Homemade burger and you pick everything from how many patties to what kind of roll and toppings. DH had the Parmesan crusted grouper and swears he had the best dinner at the table, one of the women had a dish called Going Dutch which is a chicken sate and one of the guys had the pork schnitzel that was actually the special last night. We all loved our dinners but I must say that service was a little slower than usual but that won't stop us from going back a few more times before we leave. Good food and reasonable prices. Finished the night with a small donation at the Alhambra.

Wednesday - Another beach day today and spent time catching up with more of the friends we have made over the years. A few more got in today and I think there will be more everyday through Sunday. Staying in tonight. Boiled up some shrimp that we bought at the seafood store by super foods, a few left overs, a couple of glasses of wine and the end of yet another perfect day in Aruba!

    barneys..one of our favorites!!
we had a situation there a couple of yrs ago where our service was slower than slow.
it was an issue with the server who was just not on the ball.
we sat there for well over an hour with only beverages. the server blamed it on the kitchen staff and the owner told us that was not the case. (it was the server's fault)
we waited another little while but had to leave as we were meeting some friends and had no way to contact them to tell them we'd be late.
we bid our farewell to the owner, who was very kind and appreciative of our patience and very apologetic.
we did not let that one "waitress caused bad experience" deter us from Barneys.
it is still one of our favorites.
my husband loves their burgers and ribs, i love their grouper. we are creatures of habit.

time to make more withdrawals from alhambra instead of deposits.

    have fun.

We too enjoy Barney's. The food is consistent and the owner's work hard. We've been when the service is on the slow side and we simply handle it by going to the bar and get another round of drinks. It passes the time and eventually they catch up if busy. Keep it simple...We wish it was non-smoking, but it's our choice to go there or not. We always choose go.

Thursday - another beautiful day on the beach. The wind was just enough to keep you cool and not a cloud in the sky. The water seemed a little cool and had those rolling waves with a bit of an undercurrent but doesn't stop you from getting in. Getting out was a little tricky but can be a little funny at times when you see your friend make 3 attempts before she made it out (Rita), lol. Went on our own to Tangos last night. We shared the empanadas as an appetizer and they were good but not like I remembered them. DH had the mixed grill, which is a small filet mingon, chirzo sausage and a grilled chicken breast. I had the filet mingon which was seasoned and grilled to perfection. Both came with mixed vegetables and potato wedges. We always go a time or 2 when we are here and will definitely go back again. Great service, delicious food and reasonable prices. Finished the night off on a positive note for a change at the Alhambra. All in all, another perfect day in Aruba!

glad to hear all is good.

much entertainment is provided watching folks attempt getting out of the water when conditions are a bit less than desirable.

    thanks

Thursday continued- Dinner was at the Hostaria Da Vittoria for Italian with some of our Aruba friends. We wanted to go to Carpaccio's (was in the old Amadeus location) but they already closed down. Possibly because of the location because I heard good reviews about it. The food was good, service good but a very cold restaurant. Ended the evening at the Marriott and came home $400.00 ahead, yea! Another great Aruba day.

Friday - ok, it must be a good vacation because I cannot remember where we went for dinner. We either stayed in or it wasn't very good, lol. I know we spent our usual day at the beach but after that, I got nothing, lol!

Saturday - Took the day off from the beach. Did a little stocking up at the grocery store, stopped to get a few gifts for our 4 granddaughters then off to Scott's Brauts for lunch. Visited with Scott and Leslie a while. DH had his Docs Brauts and I had the Italian sausage with peppers and onion. As always, delicious and will be back again before we leave. Went downtown to check out the parking situation since we do like going to Yejmanji (?) and visiting the seaport and crystal casino. I think it was 3 florin to park and you get 2 1/2 hours, max. Make sure you park in the parking spots that are white and not yellow. Not sure who they are for but we did see a car with a boot on it. We went to get more florin for parking at the seaport and they told us there is free parking behind the seaport so when our time was up we moved to the back for free but it is not very big. Decided to try Hung Paradise for dinner. It was good but not like the Chinese we normally get at home. Spring rolls were delicious, DH got a giant egg roll and we got generals chicken. We are used to a brown sauce with a little spice but this had some kind of red sauce and no spice. Finished the evening off at the glitz. Another great day in Aruba.

Sunday - DH got our usual palapa and planning on King Ribs for take out and watch a little football (hope our cardinals show up today, lol). Heard good things about it so I will post tomorrow.
