Sad abut Carpaccios. Unfortunately the location was probably their demise. Also too, Aruba is such a small island and i feel that the saturation point of restuarants is maxxed out.
We love Hung Paradise, and maybe it is because the sauces are a lot less spicy on the things that we order. You are so very right, it is unlike the chinese food that we get here in the usa.
continue to have fun!!!!

Possibly because of the location because I heard good reviews about it. The food was good, service good but a very cold restaurant. Ended the evening at the Marriott and came home $400.00 ahead, yea! Another great Aruba day.
Friday - ok, it must be a good vacation because I cannot remember where we went for dinner. We either stayed in or it wasn't very good, lol. I know we spent our usual day at the beach but after that, I got nothing, lol!
Saturday - Took the day off from the beach. Did a little stocking up at the grocery store, stopped to get a few gifts for our 4 granddaughters then off to Scott's Brauts for lunch. Visited with Scott and Leslie a while. DH had his Docs Brauts and I had the Italian sausage with peppers and onion. As always, delicious and will be back again before we leave. Went downtown to check out the parking situation since we do like going to Yejmanji (?) and visiting the seaport and crystal casino. I think it was 3 florin to park and you get 2 1/2 hours, max. Make sure you park in the parking spots that are white and not yellow. Not sure who they are for but we did see a car with a boot on it. We went to get more florin for parking at the seaport and they told us there is free parking behind the seaport so when our time was up we moved to the back for free but it is not very big. Decided to try Hung Paradise for dinner. It was good but not like the Chinese we normally get at home. Spring rolls were delicious, DH got a giant egg roll and we got generals chicken. We are used to a brown sauce with a little spice but this had some kind of red sauce and no spice. Finished the evening off at the glitz. Another great day in Aruba.
Sunday - DH got our usual palapa and planning on King Ribs for take out and watch a little football (hope our cardinals show up today, lol). Heard good things about it so I will post tomorrow.
Well as you can see I didn't do a very good job finishing my trip report and I am already home as of Friday. Partly because it was the same thing everyday, beach, dinner, casino and not wanting to bore everyone so I will try to summarize.
The weather was beautiful every day. Rain only one morning for 30 minutes, sky a beautiful blue with hardly a cloud, good but not too strong of a wind and crystal clear water. What more can you ask for! Our ratings for dinner were -
Chalet Swiss - 10 Good food and service
Barneys. X 3 - 9.5 Good food, Parmesan crusted grouper, burgers, schnitzel, service can be slow at times (that's why I gave them a 9.5) Eileen and Ron are one of the hardest working owners on the island
Fishes and More- 10 Good food, cooks the grouper the way I love it (battered and fried) and great service
Tangos - 10 Delicious steaks cooked over hot coals and good service
Arubaville - 9 Good food, beautiful setting but service is very slow. Friends had the lamb and said it was one of the best on the island
Zuzuroh - 8 Good but not one of my favorites, service slow but Everet and Margaretta are working hard to make improvements
Cuba's Cooking - 10 Delicious Cuban sandwiches, good mohito's, service ok
Yemanja - 8 This was my biggest disappointment but DH still loves. They changed the menu, you can't get my chicken dish that I loved, the only chicken they serve is on a salad and no more cake brownie which the DH almost cried over, lol. I had the skirt steak that had good flavor but chewy and DH had the stuffed pork which he raved about, the potato truffle soup was very good and so was service.
Chef's table - 7 Food was very bland. I had fried grouper and DH had the chicken cordon blu and I don't know why but neither had much flavor. Service was good considering the sous chef was waiting tables because someone called out.
Bavaria x 2 - 10 Good food, good beer, good service. Love the potato pancakes, rolled beef and schnitzel
Casinos were good to us except the last 2 days so no complaints there.
That is it in a nutshell but ya know, it really doesn't matter how slow service was, how some meals were better than others, what matters is that we are so blessed to be able to go to our home away from home every year, see all of our Aruba friends that we have made over the years and know that we will be heading back in just 340 days! Until then.....
I think it was Tracey that did a rating system that I liked so I can't take the credit but glad you enjoyed the update.
I like your rating system too, it's very helpful. I can't take credit for it though....we do more if a best and and not so best list. Can't really say best and worst because let's face it, bad in Aruba still can't be called worst anything.
