Talking Oh Aruba, how much I miss you

Well, I know that I'm not a frequent visitor on this site, but seeing as I did solicit advice for activites to do on my trip, I figured I would post once more.

I just got back from our trip that lasted from 5/29-6/3. My trip started off well, flying in on America Airlines (which has not been a good experience in the past) and landing early in Aruba. We stay at the Holiday Inn, and was upgraded to an Ocean Front room. The view was amazing! The room was very nice, clean and well kept. There was a fresh bowl of fruit and cookies waiting for us upon arrival and was replenished the next day as well. While our room was very nice, there were a few problems. Our shower only got hot when it wanted to, and the customer service at this hotel was just fair, nothing exceptional. However, the beach was also beautifully kept. No trash and the huts for rent were always available. The odd thing was that no one seemed to get into the water on the beach though , but oh well, more ocean for us.

Because of a recent back injury I was pretty limited on certain activities. I was going to take my chances and go snorkeling with the Jolly Pirates, but on our way there, I ran into the dive shop called Dive-Versity. I am so glad we ran into them! So instead of going snorkeling, the guys at Dive-Versity went well beyond expectations and accomodated my injury so that I could dive. They drove the boat really slow out to the site (pedernelis) so that the bouncing didn't hurt me. Then they let me climb in the water, and threw the BC/tank in to me! What an experience! These guys were amazing, so patient and very knowlegable. Anyone looking to dive while on the island should def go to them!

Another great stop for us was the Phillips Animal Garden. They do so much to help rescue the animals on the island. Our tour guide was "Papi" and he didn't miss a beat. It is truely a wonderful place and all of the donations go to the animals.

Other than that, we did the time share tour at Divi resorts, which was totally worth the time. It took maybe an hour, and the fed us a nice lunch, gave us 2 t-shirts, a tote bag, and $150 in gift certificates to local restraunts, allowing us to eat free at both Tony Romas and Texas De Brazil. We also thuroughly enjoyed the free play at the casinos (btw, there are coupons in Kays Fine Jewelry for 15% off at Texas de Brazil and $10 free play at Cool Casino).

All in all, this was a fantastic trip, and I can not wait until I am feeling better so that we can go back and visit the other side of the island.
