Yo kids
paul and i are here

brief review of day 1

air tran from orlando
took us 2 hrs to get thru ticketing/boarding passes to gate

flight ok
no food in 1st class
only liquor was jack and canadian club

paul and i drank apple juice and ate crackers and napped
not sure worth the upgrade fee.
no, that is a lie, i am sure it was not worth the fee.

checked into unit 1428 ambassador bldg casa del mar
filthy floors and bathrooms
housekeeping came repeatedly
dear husband is now at the desk begging for a change......ain't gonna hppen.

looked for a house near the texaco station, off behind the taxi dispatch bldg...unsuccessful.

dinner was at mark68's place
CAFE'CAPRI
delicious and very reasonably priced
cheap beer
i had a delicious drink of amaretto and margarita mix
very delicious, i had 2

paul had the mixed grill for his entree and it was steak and chicken and some type of pork with potatoes and salad. the portion was monstrous and very tasty.

i had chicken sate with salad and potatoes and rice (carb special)

met mark68, his lovely bride and gorgeous daughter.

met up with sherry and murray, made plans to vegetate with them on the beach tomorrow.

paul made fifteen cents at alhambra

The good part is that's only the beginning of your vacation...

Oh Andrea you are there! I hope you have a wonderful visit, and I am sure you will.
Is it true, you didn't get any food or drinks in first class?? That is awful! We always upgrade to first class but one reason is because you have more room, but we always get food and drinks. We have a 4 hour flight from Texas, and more room is good for my hubby because of the MS.
Did Bully pick you up? Please tell him that Pat and Chuck said hello.
Hope you get another room, or at least they make the room you have better!

Glad you made it safe and sound...although it makes me feel bad you wasted and upgrade fee for nothing...that is why we do the upgrade so we can eat and drink on the way down...
as for CDM..Dh and I stayed there about 12 years ago and it was musty and dark then...but I would assume that they have done some renovating since then...guess not..

On the bright side, you do have the rest of your time ahead of you....have a great time and enjoy yourself....save some sun and fun for me as I am heading down soon...

i can't believe you didn't get any food or drinks. The one time I flew first class (not on my dime) I was amazed that we got mixed nuts and not bits and bites or peanuts. lol!
I'm sorry to hear about the rooms. We will be staying in 1213 and I hope it will be better. Did yours get sorted yet?

amarg, you will be in a different building.

we are in the building of 1 bedrooms, the "ambassador suites"
you'll be in "presidential suites"
my friend liz is staying there now and her unit is nice.....2 large bedrooms and much nicer than the 1 bedroom ambassador suite.

Are they the units across the street?
I believe this is the building we were offered when we had the same problems at the Aruba Beach Club years ago.
Is the room clean now at least?
