    Our Aruba Trip - 06/09/2012-06/20/2012

Bon Bini! Arrived yesterday (20 minutes early!). Was at the Marriott Surf Club, checked in (although our room wasn't completely ready) and in swimsuits at the beach by 12:30PM! Had great flights from Indy-Charlotte-Aruba.
Bully was ready and waiting for us at the airport, as promised! He's such a nice guy!

So far, weather has been perfect...high 80's/low 90's, sunny and that great Aruba breeze.

Day 1 - checked in, spent a few hours on the beach, then dinner at Papillon. First time eating at Papillon's. Dinner and service were both good. I ordered the 8oz filet w/mixed veggies on top and au gratin potatoes. My wife ordered the salmon that was on a bed of white rice w/veggies. I ordered my steak rare, but it was closer to medium, however, it still had a good flavor. Melon/vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Day 2 - spent most of the day at the serenity pool with a few walks to the beach to visit with some friends. No problem getting a chair at the serenity pool, although the other pool area was quiet busy.
Dinner tonight was at Hostaria da Vittorio. We've eaten there before and have not been disappointed. I ordered a pizza (formmagio/prosciutto) and my wife had the gnocchi. Both were quiet tasty. Profiteroles for dessert.

Now I'm relaxing in our room, preparing for another glorious day in the sun tomorrow!

Have a great time. I see you flew out of Indy. We are only 1.5 hours away from Indy by Ft. Wayne.

We live just North of Indy, around the Fishers/Noblesville area.

It's been a couple of days since I posted.

Day 3 - Spent most of the day around the serenity pool...again, no issues with getting a chair, although it did start to get busy after lunch time. Dinner was at Smokey Joe's. We've eaten there a few times in the past. Nothing fancy, but it's cheap and pretty good. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and I ordered a rack of ribs. Very quick service!

Day 4 - Tried to lay around the serenity pool again, but the weather was pretty overcast most of the day, so we finally gave up and decided to head downtown to do a little shopping at the Renaissance mall. We did not go downtown the last few times we were here, so felt obligated to do so. Dinner this evening was at QuePasa. We'd never been there, but the friends we were with suggested it and I'm glad we tried it. Very good and the service was great! I ordered the Wahoo. It was a very thick piece of fish and was cooked nearly perfect. It came with a choice of fries, potato of the day or rice. I had the fries. I also ordered the Onion soup as an appetizer...the best I've had in a long time! For dessert I had the Banana crisps (bananas deep fried with cinnamon and sugar) served with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Pretty tasty. My wife ordered the "All you can eat" pasta. There were four different pastas to choose from. She had the chocolate souffle for dessert. It must have been good as she cleaned her plate!

Dinner tomorrow is going to be Chalet Suisse. Will try to post again tomorrow.
