    Thanks for sharing!
Your 3 weeks are speeding by

I wonder about those chairs with the shade awnings on them too?
They do look kind of cheap.
I wonder if the government has disallowed for anymore construction/placement of beach shade huts?

Have fun and I hope that today is a perfect beach day for you.

Gorgeous blue water and white sand. I was a little surprised at the blue striped umbrella's they had on the beach. Doesn't look like it gives much shade and you would have thought they would have something that doesn't look so cheap. Of course we had to check out the casino. Was impressed with the size and we both came out winners so no complaints here. Made our way to the Holiday Inn where we parked and looked up Wilfredo, one of our favorite bartenders from LaCabana that is now at the holiday inn. Found him at the bar working and was so glad to see him and he us. Sat and talked awhile, had a drink and started making our way to Scott's Brauts. We lost track of time and got there at 4 minutes after 3 and they were closing but Leslie was kind enough to offer us her 2 last Brauts (thank goodness). Bob had the jalapeņo, peanut butter and cream cheese and I had sauerkraut and onion. Delicious! Didn't get to talk with Scott and Leslie because they were anxious to leave after a long day but talked with the young lady that stays and does clean up for them. I didn't get to say hi for you Walt but we did see your license plate. Ended up going back to Bavaria later that evening and it was delicious as always. Rolled steak, potato pancakes and noodles, how can you go wrong.

Sunday- another beach day that was absolutely beautiful. White sand, blue water and clear skies, aaaaah! Needed a burger fix since we haven't had one in 3 weeks so back to Barney's for a build your own burger. The place was packed so we sat at the bar and ended up talking with a couple from Boston. Exchanged restaurant ideas and both agreed that Amadeus was on the top of our list and we were sad to see it close. I got my burger with garlic aioli, onions and pickles and Bob had mushrooms, onions, pesto sauce and Gouda cheese. They come with a small salad, cole slaw and French fries. They were seasoned beautiful, cooked perfect and so juicy! Would highly recommend for a good ole burger. Recommended the Parmesan crusted grouper to lady Boston and she moaned the whole time she ate it. She loved it. Love that place.

Monday - Another beach day but a rainy day. Had lots of thunder and lightening and pouring rain. Rainy stopped but it stayed cloudy all day which is nice once in a while. Headed up early to catch a nap since we have been up late every night and went to fishes and more for dinner. Service was good and food was delicious. Headed to the Alhambra where it tried to take all my money but I wasn't letting go! Stopped at the glitz on our way in and came home with all my money. It has really been good to us since we have been here.

Tuesday- heading down for another beach day. Our days are winding down so we have to decide on which restaurant we want before we go home. I will let you know where we end up.

Tuesday continued - an absolutey beautiful day at the beach. Sunny and gorgeous clouds against the blue sky with a nice tropical breeze. The water was perfect and crystal clear. Couldn't ask for a better day. Had to start saying goodbye to some of our Aruba friends which is always sad and it reminds me that our days are counting down. Decided on Yemanja's for dinner. We go every year and once again they did not disappoint us. Bob ordered a rolled and stuffed pork tenderloin that was stuffed with several different mushrooms and served over pesto risotto and had a sun dried tomato sauce. I had the bone in chicken breast that had a wonderful rub on it and grilled along with a delicious sauce and a black bean mango sauce. All dishes come with a bowl of grilled vegetables, garlic mashed potato's, black beans and white rice. Bob always has to have their brownie that comes with whipped cream and chocolate chip ice cream. It comes out warm and is the best brownie I have ever had. It was all absolutely delicious. The have made our must go to list once again. Played at the seaport casino and tried Andrea's buffalo game and it must be waiting on her to come back before it pays out, lol! Finished up at the Glitz and got half our money back.

Wednesday - heading out to pick up a few gifts for our 5 granddaughters and meet up with our friends for dinner tonight. I can't remember the name of the place but it is in the same spot where Cuba's Cookin was. I will post the name and dining experience later. Have a great day!

your dinner at yemanja sounds delightful.........my mouth is watering as i sit here and drink my coffee.
sometimes i wish that aruba had very limited selection on dining.
it'd make choosing a whole lot easier (just kidding)

no no no to seaport casino.
never ever have i walked away with any profit from there.
my favorite buffalo machine is at the marriott to the far left near where the original entrance to the casino used to be before the renovation and expansion. but, last trip that machine was terrible for me. there is a buffalo at the alhambra. from the front door, walk straight and it is in the 2nd row on the right and then the 3rd machine on the left, next to the little mexican man machine.
yes, pretty sad that i know the exact location of these stupid machines. i did not earn anything there because i was too stupid to cash out winnings and walk away.

have fun souvenir shopping for the girls!

    again, thanks for sharing.

Wednesday continued - the name of the restaurant we went to was la casina and it is just past ca pas's on the left hand side of the street. The owner is Patricia and she also runs the old spa at LaCabana that is being torn down. I guess she always wanted her own restaurant so it is perfect timing for her. The restaurant is very cute and quaint and she tries so hard to make your dining experience a good one. She brought us her homemade empanadas that were very good and homemade bread. Service was a little slow, company was great (our Connecticut friends). She says she does a great business at lunchtime with all the offices around so I wish her must success!

Thursday - our last beach day since we are leaving on Friday. Realized that one of the friends we meet every year was leaving so we didn't get to say goodbye to John and Irene from Boston. God willing, see you both next year (he is on the forum). Beautiful weather for our last day. Water was crystal clear, temperature was perfect and the winds just enough to keep it comfortable. For the first time in 11 years coming to Aruba, we were the last of all our friends to leave the beach. It was sad but we bid it farewell until next year, turned off the lights and handed our palapa to another group that said they would take good care of it. Went to Tangos for our last dinner. Dinner was good but not as good as it was our first time but we will go back again next year. Hit the I love Aruba store on the corner to pick up an Alabama Roll Tide Aruba baseball cap for our neighbor we has been taking care of our pool while we are gone. In case you don't know about the store, they carry most football and baseball hats and they are only $15.00. Not official hats but still really nice.

Friday - sadly packed up everything, had our last Balashi on our patio and headed to the airport. Hans was there to meet us and got through customs and to the crying room in no time. Bid farewell to our Connecticut friends in Miami and home by 1:00 Aruba time.

So until next year, I will be in Aruba through all of your trip reports. Please keep them coming!
