Loving your reports and congrats on the win at Alhambra. When we got home last week, we of course had to go to the store and while we were there picked up the ingredients to make "Docs Brats" at home. Pam and I had split one the day before we left at Scott's and really enjoyed it. They were a hit with the whole family and are going to be a semi-regular addition to our weekly menu. Have fun and please keep continuing your reports.

Saturday continued- after a beautiful day at the beach, 8 of us went to Yemanja's for dinner. We discovered this place about 5 years ago an it replaced MJ's for us. The owner/chef has always prepared delicious food and beautiful presentations however, not so much this time for the hubby and I. We decided to stray from our usual and get one of the specials that was really not the quality that we usually get. He had the beef tenderloin special with mushroom sauce, mixed veggies and truffle risotto and I had the thinly sliced beef tenderloin rolled and stuffed with veggies, grilled and served with pesto risotto. Both were chewy and the risotto was extremely salty. Some of our friends had the scallops, teriyaki flank steak, rolled and stuffed pork tenderloin and grouper. All were presented beautifully and they all raved about it. One thing the hubby goes for is the homemade brownie that was still delicious. All and all, it was an enjoyable evening and we'll probably give it another try since everyone else enjoyed theirs. Stopped in at the crystal to donate a little money but didn't stay long as I think we were the only visitors there, everyone else was local and quite crowded.

Sunday - another gorgeous day on the beach and dinner with more friends at the Blue Lobster. I must say that it was outstanding and everyone enjoyed their meal. From lobster tails, shrimp, lobster stuffed ravioli, fish and chips, lobster bisque (they raved about) and chicken and all very reasonably priced. This was our first time trying it and we would definitely go back again. Finished the night at the marriott where I tried carribean stud for the first time. We had the table to ourselves and this is a crazy bunch we were with so that made it a lot of fun. I did pretty good for a while but ended up donating my money.

Monday - heading to the beach again but calling it an early day. This vacationing is wearing me out so I see a nap in my future and then happy hour at a friends that owns a house here. Pasa um Bon tardie!

i am smling reading your post. while in aruba, my husband and i often say to each other during our morning coffee..."how about a good long nap this afternoon?"

sorry to hear that your meal at yemanjas was disappointing. but you willing to give it another try sometime, speaks wonders about yemanjas, whicj is usually awesome.

Tuesday - of course we spent another beautiful day on the beach. I must say that I am so grateful for the wind because it sees like it is hotter this trip. The temperature has been in the mid 80's but feels like mid 90's. The water has been cool but clear. You can see your footsteps in the sand. Just love sitting under my palapa and taking the time to appreciate the beautiful canvas that has been created for us! Went with 5 other couples to pincho's for the first time. We have been wanting to try it for a couple of years. We ended up asking a young couple that were here on their honeymoon to join us because they didn't have reservations and they were told they couldn't accommodate them. I think they just lied to them because there were only 4 tables including our group that were there. I know it is the off season and they probably have limited staff but be honest about it. Anyway, the view is spectacular and the food was ok. I got the filet mignon served with garlic mashed potato's and mixed veggies. The steak was a little dry and not much flavor. Hubby got the grouper served with jasmine and coconut rice and said it was okay. Didn't hear a lot of oooing and aahing out of anyone else so I assume the food was just ok. Service was good but I don't think we would go back again. Went to Alhambra to play carribean stud with the group. Really a fun time but really took our money:-( But, we saved our last $40.00 to play the slots and ended up winning all our money back plus $20.00 so I'm not complaining!

Wednesday - heading down to the beach again. Not sure what we are doing tonight but will let you know! Hope you have a wonderful day because I know I will!

thank you for contnuing to share your "aruba story"

disappointed to hear that your meal(s) at pinchos did not really make the grade. that is unfortunate.
sadly, the great view/location just cannot make up for "only ok" food.

congrats on pulling off the win on the slots at alhambra. my husband and i have had ok luck there over the years.
the smoke in there gets to me though

    enjoy your wednesday!!!
