Arrived in Aruba 12/27..ahhhhh...got checked into the Radisson....got there just in time for Happy Hour......went to Ruth's Chris for dinner...12/28..lounged on the beach all day....went to Gianni's........12/29...lounged on the beach all day....went to Chalet Swiss....12/30...

rain in the moring, then cleared by the afternoon.....went to MJ's......12/31....yup, did it again, we did the New Year's thing at the Radisson....dined on the beach, had a great meal and great time, got to see what the penthouse looked like....firworks everywhere, what a great view from up there......1/1, a little too much sun now........went to Sunset Grill......Over all we had a great trip, got too meet Rob Smith, the new GM of the Radisson at a meet and greet. Good things are gonna happen..

1/2/10, leaving was a whole another matter......because of what happened on Xmas day, security was ramped up, to enclude pat-downs and hand checking all carry on bags before getting on the plane. The flight was an hour and twenty minutes late departing Aruba.

Sorry to hear they are still doing the patdowns and such.

As always the meal at the Sunset Grill was GREAT !!!! Gianni's was great also...Sunset and MJ's are our two favorite places.

Did you hear any news re the casino at your "meet and greet"???

Glad you had a great trip! Did you hear of any news of upcoming renovations at the Raddison? We are going in July and we heard they may just be doing the rooms, paint, new t.v.,etc.

We were told that they will be upgrading the rooms, new furniture, carpet and I guess paint. I guess the lobby area also. I was told that Rob Smith is a do'er and not a lipservice kind of guy. The casino was still open when we left for Jersey on Sat the 2nd, is it still open, who knows.

the casino will be closed at the end of the month.
we have been told that they are in the process of securing a contract with a new casino management company.

i do not think that the radisson casino will stay closed for long, or if at all.
i hope it is a very smooth and fast transition.
