Thank you for sharing... it is always great to hear other's stories. Every story makes it more exciting to return.
Glad FIL is feeling better...after being able to chat with a few locals at night on my last trip Aruba is one place if I had to get medical treatment it wouldn't be as scary .... As for the luggage mix up.. again must of be a local person who stepped up and help you..

Interesting info about the helicopter! When I wanted to take a flight in 2009 or 2010, it was very expensive as I would have been the only person flying and he would have charged me the double price. I cannot remember the exact amount and it would only have been a 30 min flight.

Did you notice lots of changes in Aruba since your last visit in 2010 compared to now?

Glad you had a great vacation and thanks again for taking the time and writing about it.
Can I just say that it's been over 3 weeks since we got home and I can't get Aruba out of my head? It's like I'm going through a post-vacation depression. It's awful. I'm counting down the days until we can buy our tickets for next year and have about 1/2 of the cost set aside already. LOL
We definitely noticed some changes from 6 years prior. I would say the most changes we noticed were in the high rise area, where the restaurants are - like Benihana's moved. That strip seemed really different to us but I'll admit we didn't spend a lot of time there in the past so maybe our memory was foggy. Some buildings were finished that had been started when we were there previously. We also noticed some of the excursions we did in the past are no longer there. (Green Zebra for one). We noticed a lot more stray dogs/cats than in the past

    Thanks for your response, Laura.
Glad you had such a great time in Aruba. Thanks for pointing out the changes you noticed. I always liked strolling along Palm beach close to the shore. How it's now, I probably will not even recognize it even more.

How sad that there are now so much more stray cats and dogs! I know there is a big spay/neuter program on the way this month, 500 stray dogs will be spayed and neutered. Bucuti started sponsoring a spay/neuter program at the beginning of this year. I wished more would have been done a few years ago before it got so much out of hand and so many dogs, cats, puppies and kittens suffered or died.

Sorry. There is no treatment for PAS or PAD (post-aruba-syndome and post-aruba-depression). I've suffered with it for years as well. The only cure I've found is a repeat trip to Aruba! You can treat acute attacks by coming to the forum and reading trip reports or viewing photos of Aruba. Sometimes talking it out helps. Luckily, my friend and co-worker and I both suffer from the disease and often spend lunch hours in "treatment".

CK1- It really depends on the time of the year for Palm Beach. It has really been built up alot over the past 10 years or so, it has exploded actually. There are many "companies" renting umbrellas really close to the water, so close it actually makes walking a bit difficult at times. I am hoping they outlaw the setup so close to the water... I will report next week on how easy it is to walk Palm Beach, I found it very crowded over my Feb and New Years trips.

Thanks, Aruba4ever. I look forward to your impressions. Do you take photos by any chance?

CK1- I don't take many photos these days but for you I will try and remember to do so. As long as I remember I will try and snap a couple with my iphone while there. I will then need my computer wizard (Andrea, lol) to help me post them again.
