Wonderful news that your beach is almost back to normal and you go to go into the ocean Looking at the webcams looks like waves are not so fierce. Hope you continue to have a great vacation.

Went down to the beach yesterday to find that tons of seaweed was coming in again. The waves are down but the little waves that break at the shore look like mud water because of so much seaweed. You can walk through and get to what looks like clear water but it is all that real fine little pieces of seaweed that gets in your suit but you don't know it until you change. The good part was the sun was out, beautiful breeze and I'm in Aruba, right?! Went in the water only once and headed back up around 2. Got in a quick little nap and headed to zuzzurohs for dinner with a couple of our friends. DH and I split a Cesar salad and he had a gnocchi dish of some sort and I had the penne pasta with vodka sauce. Both were delicious. Our friends had the veal Parmesan and a penne with meat sauce and they both enjoyed their meal. Went to the Alhambra for a small deposit and headed in for the night. Until later....

I'm glad to hear that the sun is shining and that you are enjoying your vacation. I've heard good things about Zuzzorohs, and have been meaning to try it. We have so many favorites that we have to go to every year that it's hard to work in the new ones. I hope that you have a sunny, beautiful day today. We are sitting here in the downpouring rain from Matthew today, but so thankful that all we have is rain. It seems so strange to be impacted by a storm that also hit Aruba here in Va. Have lots of fun for us all! We are all living through your reports right now!

Wow, I guess I need to try and catch up a little. I have just finally changed into vacation mode and a little too lazy to post trip reports, lol! Mostly a lot of beach time these days. The water was finally clear and they cleaned up the bags of seaweed. Finally found the food truck that we have been hearing about. I loved it and even brought our favorite bellmen lunch. DH had the beef with Aruban sauce and I had the chicken with peanut sauce. Very good but next time I would get the Aruban sauce on the chicken ( wasn't sure what it would taste like but after trying DH's, I want the Aruban sauce). All comes with a salad, French fries and rice, $7.00, I want to go back! DH went to the owners meeting last week and won a $25.00 gift certificate to either the islander grill or las rambles so we had a nice quiet dinner at las rambles and it was very good. DH had the lamb chops and I had the tenderloin. Both served with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Very good and would go again. Last night we went to Quinta Del Carmen for the first time with several of our beach friends. Beautiful setting, nice balmy breeze, good food and good company. A win, win for all. Can't say that about the casinos these days but it doesn't stop us from trying, lol! Took a day off from the beach today and going to head down towards the natural bridge and try to hunt for sea glass for the first time. Some of our friends do it every year and it sounds like a fun time so what the heck, we'll give it a try. Going to drop a few things at the quickie lickie laundromat, run to the store and just enjoy the day. Until later.....

    thanks for posting!
vacation mode/laziness is just the ticket.

sorry to hear that the casinos are being selfish.
maybe they are saving the $$ for when i arrive?

    ahhh laundry day.
quickie lickie, they do a good job there and the price is right

    enjoy and thanks
Happy Holidays to you and yours!

We never made it to look for sea glass. By the time we relaxed in the morning, had breakfast and showered, it was starting to get hot. I was a little reluctant to go anyway because it is remote and I was worried about getting stuck out there or ending up as fish bait. I'm kind of a worry wart. Made some casino runs at the ritz, which I really love until bingo time. If you aren't already at a machine, you can forget finding one because all the bingo people have their papers on the chairs and machines. Headed over to the Hyatt and then the Hilton and they all began to take our money little by little so we went to salt and pepper for lunch and ordered tapas and a few drinks. Meatballs, beer battered shrimp and leumpia (?) and all were delicious. Service very good and their passion fruit capparania was to die for. Went back to the room for awhile and barneys for dinner. We both had the build your own burger and both were very good and if you crave a good burger, this is the place for you. Hit the glitz for a while and won our money back, yea! Another couple of beach days and Bavaria for dinnner on Thursday. Service was a little slow because it really filled up while we were there but worth the wait. Started out with potato pancakes and DH had his rolled beef (can't remember the German name for it) served with German noodles and red cabbage. I got the chicken schnitzel served with German noodles and mushroom gravy. I had enough leftover for both of us to have lunch the next day on the beach. Love their food but just can't remember all the German names for it. We're heading into our final week so we switched rooms yesterday (just had to move everything across the hall) so we ordered ribs from the island grill for dinner. Did not realize you get a full rack so plenty for lunch one day this week. Wasn't sure how they would be but they were baby back ribs served with pan fried potatoes and grilled verggies for $19.00 which I didn't think was a bad price for what you got. DH is down at the beach getting our palapa where the main topic of conversation will be, where did you eat, how was it, did you win at the casino and where are you going tonigh, lol! So until later.....

Nice to hear you are in vacation mode, nothing else like it. Cracked up about the bingo players saving slot machines with their papers Brings back memories of when I would go to bingo with Mom many moons ago and all the sits would be saved, God forbid if you say in someone's regular seat (LOL)....hope you have some luck at the casinos and/or slots. Pretty cold these mornings back home so I am wishing I had some Aruba sunshine these days. Enjoy and keep the reports coming when you have a moment.
