Now it's back to reality.

We spent 8 beautiful days in paradise... a perfect family vacation with our two teenagers (18 and 16). Our oldest will be off to college in the fall, so what better way to send her off than with memories of Aruba "our home away from home".

Our stay at the Costa Linda was perfect. The accommodations were wonderful and the entire staff at the CL were amazing, especially Andres, who made pool volleyball the highlight for our kids. Thank you, Andres!

We rented a Jeep and visited Natural Pool. I didn't think we'd make it, given the elevation and large rocks one must navigate... but hubby and his driving skills got us there in one piece.

The food on the island was incredible. Grouper sandwiches (fried in tempura batter) at Cafe Rembrandt, chilean sea bass at Chalet Suisse, filet mignon at Papillon, pasta at Gianna's... yum!

Hubby and I honeymooned in Bermuda, and we always thought we'd go back for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2013... but that has changed. We'll be spending our anniversary in Aruba!

We got back on Monday from a fun fun fun 9 day trip. We stayed at Playa Linda, which is the same as Costa Linda, but on Palm Beach. Reality is the worst, isn't it??? Luckily, the weather here in CT has been very nice the past few days, so the adjustment back was a little bit easier, but how I wish we were still in Aruba.....

Glad to hear you had as much fun as we did......

Sounds like a great trip. Cafe Rembrandt has quickly become one our favorite spots for dinner and drinks.

We all share the same feelings! I've been home for less than 2 weeks and it sometimes seems like a dream -- all hazy and magical! If we had come home to typical Cape Cod weather I'd really be bumming!

If we could go back tomorrow, we would.

Hubby did check flights for the first week in August (which is when we're taking our summer vacation), and they were reasonable... but reality says we must vacation closer to home.

Cafe Rembrandt is in Palm Beach.
