Sounds like another perfect day. If you go to Sole Mare you'll have to let us know if the accordion player is still there. I really don't like it when they go table to table. Veal parm at Sole Mare is excellent.

the casa del mar flea market event is on wednesdays at 5 til 7 (maybe later) there are just a few vendors, maybe 5 or 6.
small trinkets such as locally made beaded jewelry, tee shirts, hats etc are the norm.

there is a larger flea market like event 2 x a week at lacabana. (poolside)
i am not sure of the days though...

We are just curious because it looked so out of place on Malmok Weg when we were there.

    Yesterday Thursday

We spent a few hours with many of the Aruba residents on Arashi Beach yesterday.
    (Holiday/Holy day Ascension Thursday)

The waves were immense, making it difficult for the oldies and fatties (paul and i ) to get into and out of the water safely
We did however, enjoy watching the others make the effort.
Boobs, butts, legs and arms were flying making for much entertainment.
The folks sitting near us had their 2 children on things that resembled leashes and it was a great idea.
They kept pulling their kids in out of the waves.

We then moved on to Boca Catalina where it was a bit more tame!

Weather continues to be glorious....nice winds that make for cooling.

    Dinner was at Sole Mare.
All 4 of us had the spaghetti fromaggio and side orders of meatballs and sausages.
    It was delicious!

Casino was unkind and we walked away even which i guess is a win. (crystal casino)

Internet was pretty terrible all over the island yesterday..... oh well.
it was kind of nice to disconnect.

Off to the beach soon and tonight dinner at LaVista.

Funny, when the waves are too insane for us to go in I do admit we have fun watching the braver (or not so smart) people trying to come out. Is this wrong? Of course we don't want anyone to get in trouble or hurt but have to admit it is comical at times

Aww, the visual! Hahaha! How funny!

One question: How do you drive with a wet bathing suit on? Just having a layer of towels on the seat? Or changing into dry clothes?

    friday

    the winds have died considerably

we spent the better part of the morning and afternoon at boca catalina

to say i am sunned out is an understatement

so it's now shower time and LaVista @ Marriott for dinner with some fine folks from Waltham, Ma (our hometown )

    Quickie Lickie (laundromat)
    Who thought of that name????
We began to run a bit low on clothing.....underwear and shirts
Stopped at QL this morning at 9, left a bag of clothes for the nice lady.
Picked them up washed, dried and folded at 4 and all for a price of $12.

The weather has changed, sun is hiding behind clouds and as I mentioned the winds are calmer.

    I miss the gusts!

What a great deal on laundry, never would have thought of doing that way. If we ever get 2 full weeks, it would definitely be worth it.

Loving your trip and the beach and restaurant reports!
Not sure when, but we will be back
