Facetime is always wonderful and now that we have a grandchild it is even wonderfuller

After Facetime we took a ride up to Palm Beach/Hi rise area and walked around a bit.
We grabbed a drink at the Hyatt, played a few machines and then came back here to the Ren and had some coffee w/ baileys.
If i am wired an online all night it is because there was no decaf

Also this morning I had an 8 am appointment (2nd of 4) dental visits.
    Such fun!

If any of you are in need of dental work, have no dental insurance or lousy dental insurance, it might be to your advantage to have work done
here in Aruba. But if you need crown/bridge work, you'll have to be here for at least 10 days.

i am sorry that i have not posted photos.
    I will try beginning tomorrow.

Also today I had to make a grocery run to Lings. We needed pineapple juice for "bay breeze drinks" for a
party that we are attending tomorrow. No pineapple juice there, so made the trek up a mile to SuperFood and they had none either.
    Will try again tomorrow afternoon.

See how great Aruba is? Even a day in a dentist chair in Aruba is better than a day back home!

What else could any prospective visitor need to know?

Can they do dental work in the dental chair on a beach???????

You're report has convinced me to cross Renn off my list for April. I'm wanting to try different, hubby wants to stick with what we know.

I was going to try Baileys and Root Beer last weekend, but forgot all about it. Maybe this weekend. Hubby's band is playing in a bar and I'll have the bartender make it.

Reading your report, along with others, is making it very, very difficult to wait til April!!!! I'm watching the snow out my office window and know it's only the beginning of a longggggggg winter. I feel a little warmer when you mention the hot sun with that amazing trade wind.

Good luck on future casino endeavors. My hubby also thinks he can parlay my small winnings into something much bigger. Next time, I keep my pittance and go shopping the next day.

... besides the snow outside the window.... what about the starting to get dark at 4:30 thing we experience here this time of year and we know the sun's setting in Aruba toward 7 PM. UGH.... I miss Aruba!

I'm always telling my DH about your dental appointments and how much $$$$ he could save as his dental insurance is not that great for bridges & crowns etc. He was always wondering how the bridges and crowns would work as here they need to be sent out to be made. I told him gee we are going to be there for 10 days, he had me laughing saying he would have to have Bully drop him off at the dentist before the hotel to have it done in time (lol).....I think it is just a good excuse to have to extend out stay for another week

A few weeks ago my neighbor Greg met a fellow on the beach in Aruba that told him that he gets his dental work done while on vacation. Greg wanted cosmetic dental work done on his teeth. It would cost him $23K for the work to be done here in the U.S. Greg made an appointment with the guys dentist (across from Chef's Tables). The dentist Greg that he would do the work for $12K. Greg talked the dentist down to $10K. He had some of the work done then and the rest of the work will be done in January when they go back to Aruba. He said it was well worth the $35 consulting fee to make the appointment. He saved $13K. That's a lot of Aruba vacations his family can take.

    Up bright and early.
Paul and I are helping a friend with a project on our computers so we were busy all morning doing some
    research for her.
While we sat under a large umbrella on the pool deck we dodged a few raindrops...but the sun broke through and it was HOT.

We stayed at the lagoon all aftrnoon and it was very quiet (which was nice)

Dinner was with friends at Bananas Apartments.
Delicious Jamaican chicken, plantains, rice/beans and salad!

Dropped in to make a small donation at the Marriott.

Very busy downtown with a pool deck party going on over at the Ren Marina Hotel.

    I am falling asleep............snore.

Weather glorious.........however I would not complain if it were breezier.
The breezes are light and very few gusts....love the gusts!

It seems that we have had rain in the pre dawn hours, but only a few drips during the day.
    No drips today.

No ships were in town today so that relieved the crowds and traffic downtown.

We spent the day at the lagoon beach, hopping into the ocean and the pool.

We did not see Tino (Cyclone Promotions) today as weekends he is off from his job at the Ren, but busily tending to his entertainment business.
We have seen him a few times during the weekday and he is looking SUPER.

Dinner tonight was at the Hung Paradise with friend Kathy (forum member SUGAR).
We talked a lot about her "retirement" here in Aruba...........she is busier now than she was when she worked.
Kathy is the backbone and the breath of the Animal Relief Foundation here in Aruba.
Stella, (forum member billstellar) also works her tail off when she is her 6 mos a year.
These ladies as well as a few others donate their lives to helping the animals (dogs and cats), educating the folks about spaying and neutering, fostering, adopting etc.
There are many animals that need permanent homes.
If you can help either adopt, transport, foster or donate, contact forum members SUGAR or Billstellar by private message.

There is a cat in particular that I have an interest in.
(Unfortunately we can have no more cats/pets. Currently we are owned by 2 very lovely cats that hate each other and fight often. We also have a wonderful dog that is sick of the cat fights )
The cat that I speak of here, is in a foster home in Aruba... is a young (2+ yr old) calico that is nursing her kittens.
She was rescued from the Renaissance Ocean Suites.
    She is beautiful and friendly.
She will be spayed in a few weeks and needs to find a home.
She also has 4 kittens that are in a need of a home.

    Ok, pet topic end.

10:30, we made a quick trip to the Crystal and I watched Paul do his "magic" and we were back here by 11:15.
    Not at all profitable.

    Tomorrow...........we may sleep in.
