Flora looks exactly like the place I want to visit on my next trip. Looks like a great place to get souvenirs that are usable. Every time you look at what you bought you'd think of Aruba, although who needs something to remind them to think about Aruba? I do it everyday anyhow. I like those types of stores because you can always find something you wouldn't find at home.

    Tues Nov 18

The weather continues to be awesome.....3 times today it got cloudy quickly with a brief spit of rain and then it disappeared as fast as it arrived.
Apparently this evening around 9 pm it poured downtown for a few minutes, but we were up in the Hi Rise area and there was no rain there.

The trade winds continue to be light.

We spent some time in and out of the lagoon today, ran a couple of errands and a few hoursin the afternoon at the pool.

Dinner was at Pizza and More https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pizza...13?sk=timeline
    Verdict=delicious
We were with friends who are residents here.
Our friend and her mom spilt a delicious pizza (nice thin crust, evenly cook and very cripsy) and spilt a shrimp alfredo and pasta dish.
Paul had the lasagna and I had penne with meat sauce and caesar salad.
there were 2 glasses of wine, 2 balashis, a coke and a diet coke...........b4 tip the bill was $59

Pizza and More =location.......on the road with the trolley a few doors down from Maggys Perfume Store and the Digicel Store. No reservations needed....It is an authentic italian place with home made pasta. Loved it!

    open daily 11 to 8

off to the ritz where we actually won.

now it is time to rest the weary bones.

A Royal Caribbean ship came in today at around 11 am.

    Today is Wednesday right?
I feel like I am in a state of what day is it?

Weather today was a bit weird. Torrents of rain in the downtown during the wee hours.
Much sun, few clouds during the morning....turning to a couple of downpours and much sun in the afternoon, followed by
    more torrents at 5 pm.......
Everytime it'd rain, it would last for 10 min and then magically disappear. (like money at the casino)

Today we ran around a bit in the morning.......the ATA office, grocery store, flora shop again.

We drove up to Playa Linda, visited Scott and Leslie of Scott's Brats and Tom was there too.
    Nice to see them all.
We had a nice visit and shared conversation of our never ending topic.
Saw the Cindyo and robo plates.

Then to check on Lizzardo's house.
Still there, still occupied by the tenant.

Jumped in the ocean at Catalina Cove, snorkeled for half an hour or more and then to
BANANAS APARTMENTS to sign up for 11 days in May and to bid
farewell to a group of 4 friends.

Gotta say........if you do not mind the non hussle and bussle of resorts........and do not mind being 150 yds from beach...
    this place is THE BEST.
BANANAS' owners Tinica and Peter and their daughter and son in law, have this beautiful little gem of a few (maybe 8) apartments that are set back abutting Tierra Del Sol.
The owners are always on site and welcom you to their porch for coffee and conversation!
We visited twice and now feel like family.
Lovely surroundings, spacious clean and lovely rooms.
Nice clean and sparkling pool and hammocks, and lounges and jetted spa (sparkling clean).
    The gardens are lovely.
Each unit has a very large porch.
There is sufficient parking and there are no negatives.
Full kitchens, living rooms, King beds, good airco....
    Free wifi too.
    Fair Pricing....very Fair Pricing

If you are looking for a new experience, give it a shot.
    (see thumbnail photos)

We eventually wound up back at the Renaissance pool after 1 pm and i parked my very large self onto a lounge and plugged in to listen to the last couple of hours of my audio book...WITNESS (?) by Nora Roberts.
Swam a bit and had a few frozen concotions.

Dinner was at LaVista @ Marriott ....good not great.
In honor of Pegmeister, I started with a cup of coffee, a small slice of cheese cake and some flan. Life is short, have dessert first.
Then I had a couple of nice lightly seared pieces of tuna and some shrimp salad and grilled asparagus and grilled summer squash
As I said good, not great.
The head chef came by and chit chatted, asked our opinion.
We told him we liked it, but was not wowed as we had been in the past.
I asked him why the fish in the case was listed as "swai grouper"
Bottom line it is not grouper but a tilapia. HUH?
The salads seemed rather bland and the grilled veggies almost tasteless.
He agreed and said he has been hearing that often.
    Service was outstanding.
On the way out the door, the chef caught up with paul, slapped a gift certificate $80 in his hand and said come back again!
Nice guy and certainly not necessary.

Got back to the Ren and realized we were supposed to be at grouper night at Barneys.
Called them to apologize for missing our reservation and will go tomorrow evening instead.

Love that you had dessert first! When I was reading your post I was wondering what happened with your Barney's reservation. Guess I pay way to much attention to food comments! I'm trying to not make any definite dinner plans for next week but I do have a list to refer to.

So so did you get the peacock when you went back to Flora?

no i cannot find the darn peacock.
flora inventory manager looked and said there are NONE.
i may have to resort to ebay.

our dinner/restaurant plans went to hell in a hand basket.
my spreadsheet was on the bureau in bedroom.
    yesterday i tossed it.
all that work, all the plans.....hahahahahahaha right down the crapper
we did get to Pizza n More, Barneys 2x, LaVista, Wacky Wahoo, Hung Paradise 2x and Scotts Brats
we did not get to (from our list) Ricardos, Pam Pam or Madam Janette.
we missed MJs and just could not fit it in to our plan...will do it in May.

On the bright side he was honest when asked???

If you google "passing off tilapia as grouper" it seems to have become a common practice.

Was it "fresh' frozen as well??
