Let me begin by saying congrats !!!! That is really cool to get a distinguished visitor plaque...........now,,,,I want one.....<tee hee hee>
Anyway, glad you had a nice time. We are going Sunday (9th) and hopefully the beach will be in decent shape for us to enjoy....being in that wonderful caribbean sea is one of the things I look forward to the most.....
They didn't ask us for verification when we got our 10 year, however, they could check with your passports if necessary. I gota say I think its the "merit" system. Also, your hotel can verify your # of stays. cindyo
Perhaps they have a way of checking with customs to see how many times our passports have been swiped. Can't always use the current passport as in ten years they would have expired and if you don't always stay at the same location in ten years.
our passports expired 2 yrs ago and we have new ones with a few aruba stamps.
in the early yrs when we owned just 2 weeks at lacabana we usually did a week at the tamarijn at thanksgiving or in april.
i think and my numbers may be off a bit............... since 1997 and in no particular order
tamarijn 3 or 4 weeks
bushiri 1 week
lacabana brc 22 weeks
holiday inn 1 week
formerly lacabana villas (now aruban) 2 or 3 weeks
then there were added nights Pre or Post timeshare
aruba grand (which in my opinion was my all time favorite place as i loved their pool)
looking back.............maybe we should have bought a small home in the wayaca neighborhood or the neighborhood behind the Parliament building.
When we got our Distinguished Guests certificate in 2007, our Passports were relatively new...we did not have ten stamps. The first few times we went, we only used Birth Certificates (Warning - you no longer can use Birth Certificates, you need a Passport). My guess...it's an honor system.
The easiest way to "apply" is to go through your hotel concierge.
