That's a bummer with Driftwood. We have never been there and had planned on giving it a try on our next trip.

However before then the waitresses were both very attentive. The food on the other hand was not so great. I ordered two appetizers as my dinner, the crab cake and the calamari. I was so excited to try the crab cake as it is one of my favorite foods at home. It looked like a pre packages crab cake. Here wasn't one piece of lump crab meat, it was a lot of filler. The calamari was very good though, it was all rings, and they were rather large. I was happy to only get the rings because I only like them. My mom got the fried shrimp dinner. She thought it was okay but she didn't love it. I had two pieces of her shrimp, I agreed they weren't the best I've had on the island.

After dinner we headed to the Alhambra Casino. It is one of our favorite casinos on the island. There is a great mix of locals and visitors. We played Roulette for a while but ended up walking away with nothing. We then played the slots for a little. I lost $60 last night and my mom lost $50. Hopefully our luck will turn itself around.

The weather today is gorgeous! Not a cloud in the sky and there is a nice breeze. We are sitting here by the pool enjoying the sun. Water aerobics is about to start.

My mom has been able to reserve a prime spot right in front of the pool.

My mom gets up at 4 every morning to reserve our hut by the pool. We only like certain huts by the pool. So my mom doesn't like to risk not getting one we like. So at 4 she wakes up, goes down hangs a bag on the hut and puts towels on 3 lounge chairs. Then come back to the room to go to bed!

    Wednesday:
It was my mom and mine last day alone. We spent most of our day sitting by the pool taking in the sun and scenery . We ventured down to the ocean a couple time. Floating around in our blow up chairs. We bring them every year from home. I bought 5 new ones this year from Walmart. They were $6 a piece. They are best chairs with handles to hold on to and a cup holder in each side.

Wednesday we we had lunch at Scott's brats again.

Wednesday night for for dinner we were looking for something simple and easy. We ended up deciding on Hollywood Smoke house. It's located in the Alhambra plaza. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit inside at a table looking out at the plaza. Wednesday night there was a local band playing in the plaza. My mom and I both thought it was a little loud. However they were very good. Due to being so loud outside we figured inside where we could still hear the music would be better.

I would give the over all experience an 9, with food being a 10 and service being an 8. My mom ordered the Smoke house burger. Asked for it medium well, and it came out more like medium. She still loves it though. The burger didn't come with any sides, none of the sandwiches did. My mom ordered coleslaw as a side for an extra charge. She thought the coleslaw portion was small for having to pay extra, but it was good. I ordered the chicken breast dinner. It came with two sides, being the picky eater I am, I ordered double fries. The portions were extremely large. I got two large chicken breast. It had a bbq sauce on it, it was amazing. One of the best sauces I've ever tasted. They also borough three other sauces to our table. One was bbq, another was honey bbq, then there was a hot sauce I believe. I tasted both the bbq sauces. I loved them both. We each had a glass of the house Pinot Grigio. Our total bill, tip and all was $53.

Our luck finally turned around in the casino! My mom and I both won on the slot machine. I won $100 on the quick hits slots. My mom won $80 on a different slot. Winning Wednesday night brings me back to almost even for the trip so far.

About to go take a dip in the ocean! Have a great day!

We're big fans of Hollywood Smokehouse. I always get their pulled pork. Last trip I purchased some of their sauce to take home.

I thought about getting the pulled pork! I'm just a picky eater so I usually stick to things I know I'll like. We are thinking about going back with my dad because we leave. If we do I'm definitely going to try the pulled pork. I didn't know you could purchase their sauce. I might to buy some. It was so good

    Thursday:
Last night we had dinner at Carpaccio! Scott and Leslie recommended it to us! Believe me you will not be disappointed! It was the best meal we've had on the island in all the years we've been coming. If you know where the Texaco station is, it's 3 round abouts past the Texaco on your right.

We we would give this restaurant a 12 out of 10 stars! The food was excellent, our waiter was on the ball, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Carlos was our waiter, Scott and Leslie said he was the best.

My dad and I shared calamari to start, with marinara sauce! It was awesome! I had tortellini with a parmigiana sauce! The sauce was so creamy and delicious! I loved it! I ate every last bite. My dad had the penne with vodka sauce. My mom had Al Limon. Hers was a chicken dish, with vegetables, and finger potatoes. Both of them loved there meals! We have been recommending it to everyone we have been talking too. Carlos also gave us a Tiramisu dessert free of charge! It was awesome! I've never had Tiramisu before, and I devoured it!

I highly recommend this restaurant! Don't be afraid to try it!

Loving your report, it sounds like you are having a great time. Scott and Leslie turned us on to Barney's when they first opened. It has been a favorite of ours ever since. Carpaccio is now on our list...
