You definitely won't be disappointed! We've been trying new places this year, and we keep hearing about more great places from the people we chat with! We could use a 3rd week to visit all the great restaurants!

Scott and Leslie really know some great restaurants! Last year they recommended us to Casibari, it is now one of our favorites! After doing research this year we heard that the kukoo kunuke has switched there dinner to Casibari, instead of the governors house. We did the kukoo kunuku two years ago but just the pub crawl. We are talking about doing the dinner and pub crawl now because it's at Casibari.

Casibari looks right up our alley. It's hard to believe that we haven't stopped there already. We'll definitely make there this Fall.

    Friday:
It was a different day here for is at the Playa Linda! It was the day of the grand opening of the new pool! Boy did the construction workers work their a** off to get the final pavers laid. However some small details were yet to be completed. It is believed they had to go through with the opening celebration because most of the board members were vacationing this week! The most of the pool area has been open for a couple weeks well ahead of schedule. They had some set backs with the pavers not coming in on time that held up the completing of a small part of the pool deck. From my knowledge the only thing that is left to be completed is adding of some chickees, adding a glass railing around one side of the pool deck, and some landscaping! The pool looks gorgeous!

For the grand opening they hired a company to come set up for the party! They did a nice job! The brought in 10+ high top tables, outdoor couches and chairs, and they put up a tent. They also made a ribbon and bow for manager Steve to cut. The playa Linda hired a steal drum player and a dj. They both played great music!

We bypassed happy hour on Friday, because management handed out 3 free drink to everyone around the pool. You could receive your free drinks at Azzurro's. I mean hey what's better the 2 for 1 drink.... 3 for free!(hey that rhymed) They offered most mixed drinks with the exception to frozen drinks and they offered balashi chill. However they had no organization to being served your drinks. It was a mess, they person pass the drink tickets out never specifically said what they could be used on so everyone was huddled around the bar ask what they could be used for. For the first 30/45 minutes everyone was trying to get drinks but then it slowed down and it was a lot easier to receive them.

Friday's dinner was at Arubaville! We had dinner with our two friends that were also down here for vacation, so there was a total of 5 of us! We made reservations for 730 through Concierge Yvette. The view and atmosphere are amazing, it a very cool chill vibe! They have an upstairs deck that would be a cool spot to hang out. The food was good... Nothing great but good! We ordered fried calamari as our appetizer and it was really good, not great like carpaccio' but it was very good. I didn't like the sauce that came with it. My mom and our one friend had the half a bbq chicken special it came with fries and a salad! They both like it a lot. It seemed that it was hard to eat and pull apart because it was literally a chicken cut down the middle. I also had a a special, it was a 4 cheese seafood pasta. I requested for only shrimp in my pasta. I ended up only getting shrimp! They have me 5/6 large shrimps! Mine was very good! My dad had almond crusted mahi mahi with some type of sauce. He loved it. I trie his as well and thought it was very good! Our other friend had the beef tenderloin. It must have been good because he was a member of the clean plate club.

We had some complaints about the service. Our waitress was very unattentive. We sat down and immediately ordered drinks: three beers, a glass of wine, and a chillarita. It took at least 15 to receive our drinks. It was so bad another waitress brought us over bread and apologize. Once receiving our drinks we ordered our food, and it didn't take any longer than normal to receive our dinners. However once we received them we were never asked if our meal was okay, or if we need another drink! NOTHING! We all needed another drink so my mom went and found the manager. We ordered another drink through here and she gave them to us free of charge. She apologized and said our waitress was new.

Our total bill was around 110 dollars. Pretty responsible for 3 meals and 3 drinks.

Wow I'm really behind! We've been having a lot of fun the past couple days it's been hard to find time to write!
    Saturday:
In the morning we relaxed by the pool for a while before my mom and I had to go pick my cousin and her best friend up from the airport. As usual it was a beautiful day in Aruba!

There flight was expected into Aruba at 1155, it arrives at 1150. They flew from Baltimore to Aruba on South West We followed there flight on flight tracker. We never got an email from flight tracker till about 10 minutes after it had landed. We promised them a few roadies, so we brought them a bucket of chill.by the time we left our hotel it was like 1215. We hit some traffic going through town. So we tried to cut through the back roads behind Oranjestad! We ended up getting to the airport around 1235/1240. They were waiting for us outside the arrival terminals and had been for about 10/15 minutes. They got through immigration so fast... They said there were no lines at all.

After picking them up we stopped by the Super Foods for them to pick up a few things they need. Then we were on the hotel

My cousin, her friend, and myself had lunch out front at Burger Burger/ Dushi Bagel! I had the same lunch I had earlier in the week: a grilled chicken breast and fries. It was pretty basic but really good. My cousin got bbq wings, she thought they were only okay! She asked for them well done and they weren't well done enough. Her friend ordered chicken Caesar salad and cheese stick! She liked both of them. The service was a little slow, but that is too be excepted on the island.

After lunch we had our own happy hour by the pool. We bring a foldable cooler and buy beer and drinks at the store. For actual happy hour we went to Nos clubhuis. They had a 2 for 1 special from 5-6. However it wasn't offered on all drinks. It was offered one on balash and Amstel bright then also Aruba ariba, sex on the beach and Long Island ice tea. The view from there of the sunset was fantastic.

Dinner saturday day night was at a new place for us: the local store! My dad is a beer snob and was hoping for some good beers!! The food at the local store was very reasonable , however the drinks were over priced. Make sure you ask about prices before you order your beer My mom and I both had wings. We are super picky about our wings. We like them well done with lite sauce. I also order just the flats! The wings were to our liking except I didn't get just all flats! My mom ordered the blue bbq sauce and I order the boom boom sauce. Both were delicious. I also ordered fries as a side dish, it was a large portion. My cousin had grill chicken wrap with the boom boom sauce on the side. She had asked for no lettuce or tomatoes and it came with shredded lettuce all through it. She tried to pick it out but ended up sending it back. it came out correct and she loved her wrap. My cousins friend had the turkey panini. Which wasn't really a panini it was more like a turkey sub. She loved the "panini". My dad had the local burger. He loved it. My dad and my cousins best friend also had the homemade chips. Both of them loved the chips. The local store is a great place for a casual dinner with some great food. Just make sure you ask about the prices of drinks!

Sayurday night we we end up going to bed early. My cousin and her friend were tired from a long day of travels. So we all called it an early night

We went to the local store when it first opened this Spring. We to thought that the craft beer prices we're a little elevated for being off the beaten path. It seemed like they kept their pricing from when they were downtown, but then again, we tried to remember that's everything has to come in. The food we had was good. We still prefer Bavaria for beer selection and they seem a little more competitively priced. We're going to stop at MJ's for a beverage and appetizer during our upcoming trip. We'll see how their craft beer prices compare.

Does the Local Store offer a Happy Hour yet? When we inquired last trip they said they we're going to feel out the market.

We are currently sitting at the Bavaria! It's our third trip to this establishment! My dad and cousin are big craft beer fans! We think the Bavaria has the best prices. Right now they have 16 beers available! The owner Peter said there list usually consist of 50... But with his next shipment coming in 3 week there will be 65 bottles . Last night we also visited Madame Jeanette!! They have 75 bottles in there cooler. They have a wide section of all kinds of beers! The beer expert Xian, was very helpful and friendly! He is very knowledgeable on the beer selection! Both places are great! The prices are a little more at Madame Jeanette's but reasonable!
