Sitting on the beach at LaCabana since 5:30 AM and finding myself lucky to have gotten the last front row Palaypa. From home this sounded insane, but there's a lot to be said for sitting almost alone on a quiet beach in such beautiful weather; loving the moment.
You likely have read some CindyO reports, not as many as she would like because of the wifi. Trust me, her prolific little self will ultimately write anything and everything about our trip.
Today, Wednesday, begins our fifth day with family, there are twelve of us. Starting this coming Friday, we'll see lots of friends and family using the airport. Starting with the current 12, the rest of our trip looks like this:
Friday, 3 leave and 6 arrive and we move to Renaissance; up to 15 persons.
Saturday, 1 departure; 14 remain.
Sunday, 4 depart; 10 remain.
Monday, 2 depart (our daughters , a very sad day for Dad), 8 remain.
Friday, 1/9, the 8 go home.
We arrived Friday, 12/26; checked in at LaCabana where we fortunately got the same room for all of our 8 days here. Liking this resort a lot more than we expected, thought we would miss our beloved Renaissance and Surf Club more than we do. Friday evening a light dinner at Hooters for their chicken wings.
Saturday was for grocery shopping, pool side and dining at Anna Maria's which we once again enjoyed.
Sunday was an all beach day (got two front rows at LaCabana at 5:30). Dining for 12 at Ricardo's, excellent.
Monday, all 12 ATV'd from Club Arias to the natural pool, the bat caves, the kite surfing beach, and everything else there is to see on the beautiful eastern side of the island. Later some pool time followed by dining at Tierra del Sol (just CindyO and I), which is quickly becoming one of our favorites.
Tuesday, morning at the pool and afternoon on the Dolphin Snorkle Cruise, followed by refreshments at Bugaloe.
Wednesday.....well, that's now, and I just got my chairs unlocked. So, here's where I sir until Cindy brings my coffee and muffin.
Have a great day everyone, I know I will here in Aruba. God Bless, and, Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to the O family! Thank you for sharing your trip. I woukd much rather be sitting on the beach at 5:30 than getting ready to start my day in the cold. I think I am one of the few who prefers the morning palapa reservations. Its so peaceful, and I always seem to be awake anyway.
