Never boring! I think it 's great that you have the opportunity to umpire and develop the friendships you have. We always enjoy Scots Brats but have never made it there for breakfast. Scot and Leslie have worked hard. It's nice to see them enjoy their dream.

For the fifth straight year, I have opened up my baseball umpiring season in Aruba. Today, I was the plate umpire for a Senior LL game in Aruba. It was an uneventful game (always a good thing for umpires) that was shortened to five innings because of the "mercy rule". The final scores was 12-1.

It was nice to get out there and do my thing, and it was fun to work with one of my Aruba umpire friends.

Another game coming up Sunday afternoon near the church in Noord.

If not for the mercy rule, we would have played two more innings with the outcome not in any doubt. It was good for my legs the first time out to get a quick and easy game.

Loving your reports, also love your love and dedication to baseball and Aruba youth. It is so nice you bring hard to find equipment for them. Enjoy the rest of your stay and hope you win big one of these days at the casino

I love your report, but it's making me sad. I remember reading your report last year knowing we would be there the same time as you. We drove past a baseball game, and I wondered if you were umpiring that game. It's sad because we are not going to be in Aruba this year.

We know all about a mercy-rule game. My son was sometimes on the losing end of one; sometimes on the winning end.

The equipment I bring is for other umpires. The youth players seem to all have nice uniforms and equipment. The youth baseball programs seem to be pretty well run.

I'm sure the other umpires are very appreciative, still a very nice gesture on your part. Have fun, at least the ballgames in Aruba will be nice weather as opposed to our Red Sox in another half hour playing first official game in the 30's, brrrrr......poor Xander!!!
