I arrived back home late last night, but my luggage didn't. Apparently my two checked bags, as well as those of a few others, never made it on the plane in Aruba. The baggage agent in Hartford tracked the bags and said they were in Miami (my flight was Aruba to Philadelphia to Hartford). I filed the baggage claim report and the agent said they should deliver them to me today. Someone is going to make a long ride -- I live about two hours away from the airport.

Upon getting home, I went to the American Airlines baggage website and tracked my bags. They arrived in Hartford about ten minutes after I left! If I had the information that they were en route, rather than sitting in Miami, I would have stayed and waited at the airport.

Luckily, my scheduled baseball game for today had already been postponed, or I would have had to piece together a set of old equipment and shoes to use.

As for my trip report, I will be putting together a bunch of observations and thoughts in the coming days. I am already wishing I was still in Aruba! I will be back there in December.

Again thank you for your report... just don't understand it seems like forever for vacations to get here; but goes by way too fast.

I have never minded my bags being "lost" on the the trip home because I don't need anything in them when I get home. And I'm really quite happy when the airline that "lost" them has to schlep them to my home for me. I never understood, until this moment and your post, how important a returning bag could be. Hope you now have your equipment, rpumpire! Best wishes to you and I really enjoyed your trip report!
