We have rented there from two different owners, one American and one Venezuelan with no communication issues between us and their property managers. Every issue we have ever had (all of them very minor) was taken care of as quickly as possible with little to no interruption to our vacation. I know that Oceania may not be an option for everyone but it's worth checking it out. We found our rentals on VRBO.com.

I'm glad that you and your family were able to make the best of a not so perfect situation. Safe travels.
We were trying to save on money is the reason I went with the house from Aruba Happy Rentals. Just goes to show cheaper is never better. And in this case we didn't get what we paid for. It was too bad we had to find out the hard way but now we know better.

    Management Response

Dear Guest and other forum members,
Fortunately we have many happy guests and homeowners that enjoys our many accommodations and services for more than 7 years.
Our dedicated team is always available when assistance is needed or requested. Our team is committed to solve any concerns to make sure our guests and homeowners are happy during their stay at our villas.
For the guest here mentioned we specifically reached out immediately as soon as we heard about the pool at 10.30 pm.
It appeared that the pool has been flooded, which was caused by a pool attendant that left the hose running. Very unfortunate indeed, meanwhile the guest had taken action already and got rid of the extra water around the pool deck area and expressed at that moment to be happy and in no need of any further assistance.
Upon check out we waived the extra expenses for both water and electricity. The guest did not had to pay for any extra usage at all.
We ALWAYS share the comments, complaints and thank you notes with our homeowners and also for this specific situation we shared all correspondence with the owner. After consulting with the homeowner, the decision was made that waiving the extra utilities was the correct solution and compensation to resolve this matter.
After check out and exchanging several emails with this guest we clearly understood that the guest was not happy with their stay and had a higher expectation.
We agree that it is a challenging goal and may be different for each guest and expectations as each property is unique in their own way with their own charms and all guests expectations might be different from one another.
We fully comprehend that guests and other forum members post and share their vacation experience through this bulletin board and other portals. As a property and rental management company we encourage this and also share experiences from both guest and homeowners through these portals and always apply this to better our services for all our current and future guests.
We are committed to provide good accommodations and excellent service for both guest and homeowners.
    Best regards,
    Management Aruba Happy Rentals

welcome to the aruba.com community forum

re: the pool overflowing, you said in your post............."It appeared that the pool has been flooded, which was caused by a pool attendant that left the hose running. " and "Upon check out we waived the extra expenses for both water and electricity"

i am confused. The water wasted and caused the pool overflow.....if you had chosen not to waive the extra water for the pool overflow, would the tenant have been responsible?

    am i correct?

You could at least get all the facts straight before posting. We were charged $29 and some change for the electric.

And yes, that was kind of you for not charging for the water that we should not have had to pay for in the first place.

And thanks for this: "For the guest here mentioned we specifically reached out immediately as soon as we heard about the pool at 10.30 pm." When did immediately mean 5 hours later?

And I forgot to mention that the reason the pool pump was burned out in the first place is because the water level was below the skimmer. Way to keep an eye on things for the owner. Bet they would love to know that.

I still don't see why you won't give out the contact info of the owners so we can tell them what happened. Oh yeah, I forgot. You contacted them yourself. I'm sure they were informed as to what really went on.
