I am absolutely falling in love with Playa Linda. More to come on that later, just a quick check in from the beach. I considered an internet detox but what can I say
, I'm an addict and typing from the beach is great!
Not sure when, but we will be back

Hey Tracey, we were probably going through the same time. My friend was thinking of trying playa linda & was curious about the units, size, kitchen, etc. I told her to check on forum, someone will know.

oh, went to Kay's Jewelers, nothing yet. Wasn't in shopping mode. Am now in shopping mode. We are probably going to Moomba's tonight. Our yearly friends come tomorrow.

We probably crossed paths already, lol

Tracey, Glad you guys made it to Paradise. I had a friend who stayed at PL and LOVED it until they went to the Ocean Club. Now they will not go anywhere else but Ocean Club. I have stayed at PL several times and that is a very nice place and now the pool area is all new and its really sweet. Make sure you play bingo there. They hand ALL the money out there and the last game is double. We always played like 8 cards per day and seems like we won enough to buy the family dinner every night. Your odds are a lot better there than the casino. Have a good one. Aruba Bob

    Friday Lazy Beach day

Once again writing this from my palapa, made it to the front row today. I came down around 5am and snagged the last front row in the area we want to be in. You don't have to be up at 5, there were open palalpas all day, but I am awake anyway so might As well get front row. As I sit here I am listening to what sounds like an all night boat party docked near Pelican Pier. They definitely sound like they are having a good time but it's not too loud that I can't enjoy the sound of the water breaking at the shore.

There isn't a lot to report from yesterday. We were on the beach from before sunrise to after sunset, with the exception of lunch. The weather can only be described in one word: perfect! We had cool white sand, white puffy clouds, mixed in with just enough gray ones to give you a break from the sun just when you needed it. The trade winds were just the right speed. The blue and turquoise water was just the right temperature to get in with ease. We truly couldn't have asked for a better day.

Our room at PL is in the Hyatt side and when we get off the elevator we are less than a minute to the beach. We have settled in nicely to the are between the beach bar and Scotts Brats. My new friend from the beach yesterday owns several units and was telling me this is his favorite area. You don't get much of the pool noise. And there are no water sport vendors or umbrella or chair rentals. Its just an open beach and for now a nice smooth slope into the water. I also enjoy the higher than normAl lounge chairs on the beach. With a bum knee, it really helps

At sunset we were close enough to the bar to hear the steel drum music. Sunset was pretty good. It was one of those where you could really enjoy It with a good pair of sunglasses, but it pictures It was a little hazy and you couldn't clearly see the ball shape. Well, it could be that I just don't have the photogrAphy skills to do It. The sunset had a lot of potential but clouds on the horizon made it so you couldn't see the last drop into the water. The sky was a beautiful mixture of pink and blue. I will post pics when I get home.

Our Coleman bookbag cooler seems to be a good investment so far. It holds ice pretty well for a soft cooler and is easy to carry around. It got a workout yesterday. We had the best of intentions on going to Lings but settled for an overpriced yet convenient trip to the PL Mini Market for some drinks for the morning and mixers. Not sure if I mentioned this but we ordered duty free online from Miami. They doubled our order but so far have only charged us once. We weren't asked about it at the airport so that's a win.
I plan to do a full restaurant write up later, and have been keeping notes, but I have to mention our lunch at Dushi Bagels. We both had Banana grouper. It is a plate of grilled grouper pieces, each topped with a plantain and melted gouda, and then a triangle shaped hashbrown. There are 4 or 5 of these pieces. The flavors blended so well. I have a feeling we will have that again before we leave. We kept most of the hash browns and will have them with breakfast later. It was too much food for lunch.
We skipped dinner, after a big lunch and snacks and drinks on the beach, we just werent hungry. We made the quickest deposit in our casino history at the Hyatt and escaped with only a little dignity to walk around Palm Beach. There was no music at HArd Rock, which was disappointing. We ended up making it an early night.

And here we are ready to do it all over again! Wow this is a long report for such a lazy day. Sorry if it dragged on but the colors of Palm Beach can keep me rambling for hours!

That's what Aruba is all about. Sun, fun, food, shopping. Did make my first damage at Caribbean Queen.

Tracey, when you get back & have time. I will ask my friend what she wants to know about the resort & maybe you can answer her questions. She always stayed at Radisson.

excuse me, time to make the coffee & start the day @ the beach....

Enjoy, Gaby. I am not much of a shopper so you will have to do enough for both us! My dad and his wife are in on a cruise on Tuesday and I think Caribbean Queen would be right up her alley. I may have to take her to check it out, if we can pry ourselves away from the beach.

I will be happy to give info to your friend, I will pm you contact info later. We stayed atthe Radisson last year so I can give a good comparison. The short version is that The rooms atthe Radisson were much nicer of you are looking for a hotel with no kitchen. The beach here at PL feels less crowded.
Not sure when, but we will be back

No, she definitely wants a kitchen. When I get home I'll ask her what she wants to know & then PM you. She wanted to check out the rooms but unfortunately she didn't have time.

Have fun. One of the dealers last night (my favorite) told me the reason , at least a big reason for traffic in that area is that you have two people crossing street, cars stop. Just when you think you can go, more people cross & you have to stop. Then one car goes and next wants to turn left. Then they turn and people cross the street. He said they need to have a light there so there can be movement.

are you listening Aruba Traffic Control?
