Glad you guys liked Flying Fishbone. I'm a little hesitant when recommending it to people because it's a hike to get there and it would be terrible if people had a bad time.

Flying Fishbones sounds like an experience. I'm not sure about being up to the knees in water while trying to eat though. It's great that you were able to have Bully do the ride. We haven't met him but did use the A1 taxi and the driver was very pleasant and social.

Have fun with your dad and his friends today! Looking forward to the spring break stories.

We told a couple people we were going and they all were skeptical since We didn't have a car to drive ourselves. I don't know if it would be worth it to everyone, but for us it was. There was no stress of finding the place, having to pick a DD, or making our way back in the dark. If you were going to dine in the beach I would say there are other options closer that are just as good or better. But the experience of dining In The water was unique and made it worth it for us. The food was good but didn't blow us away like other places have in the past.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Yes. I think it's one of those places you go because 1) you're tired of the resorts and/or downtown, 2) you want to see the south island or 3) you're non-drinkers. We've always taken a taxi and made night of it. We haven't been in a couple of years and it used to be a staple for us... The Spouse swore it was the best rib eye on the island. We'll have to try it again.

I've only been there once. It was a great experience many years ago 2004 or 2005. It's not on my must do every year list, but there was nothing negative about it.
