As we sit and wait for the dreaded ride to the airport, we are reflecting on the trip. My first birthday in the sand was all that I imagined it would be. We never got that amazing sunset where you see the whole sun drop in to the water, there were some overcast skies. We had a little rain but nothing more than the occasional short shower, including a quick downpour we got caught it this morning walking back from Scotts Brats.
The Aruban people never disappoint. Its nice to be surrounded by friendly people. The taxi rides at home just arent the same.
We learned a lot this trip exploring on our own and I think we are finally ready for a car rental for a day or two next time. As you can see we drink too much to make it worth it the whole week.
Our next trip will be to a timeshare rental with a kitchen. Ive learned that if we have too many options, we spend too much money . For example, we had room service and paid to rent a palapa mainly for cconvenience. We stopped by Playa Linda and decided we are going to try there next.

I've really enjoyed all of your reports. The cloud of sadness is exactly what I feel on the last day, and waiting another year to return seems so far away. However, for us, it flies, and we are saying that we can't believe that it's almost time to go back to Aruba! Hope you have safe and on time flights. Back here in Va (Richmond) it is freezing. Last night was in the low 20's.
