Glad you guys made it safe and sound. Funny how a liquid afternoon results in a loss of appetite. Thanks for posting!

Day 3 We finally ate dinner and made it an early night

It was another relaxing day with great weather and perfect water! Jon went on a dive this morning with Unique divers. He has been certified and done dives and spear fishing at home but this was his first ever Caribbean dive. On our previos trips he either didnt want to leaveme alone or he had ear problems so he hadnt had the. Chance before. He liked the crew on the dive boat and said he had a great time and would definitely use them again. They stopped at the Antilla wreck and Malmok He is certified but not advanced so he can only go to a certain depth. I have no interest in diving so i had a morning to myself. I did a little reading and a lot of lounging around under the, palapa. We have to move next time we reserve though. Weve ben next to a crying baby for 2 days. There was just no comforting him, I felt bad for the mom. He seemed to do better when she,let him run around naked. The kid is probably around 2.
Weve seen the Aloe Man twice. He cracks,me up every time. He made some comment about the heat and how he was "baking like a chicken". For some reason i just think that is a funny line.

Breakfast today was snacks in the room. Lunch for me was the Docs Bratt. Iwalked down to have a quick visit with Scott and Leslie. The bratt and vodka and lemonade were both great. The peanut butter cream cheese combo was better thoan ex o ected. When Jon got back he was starving so we went to bugaloe for him. He had the grouper sandwich and we tried grouper ceviche. He liked it more than I did, but I wasnt really by hungry after my brat.

After lunch it was another afternoon on the beach where we both dozed off a little. Our friends arrived laterafternoon and we had drinks at the Gilligans bar happy hour. Then we decided to walk over across from our hotel to find dinner. We were torn between Tango and Fishes and More. Fishes won and that earlybird dinner special is a great deal! We had grilled grouper (Shocker, I know). Our friends had filet and mahi mahi. Everyone was pleased. The fish was excellent and prepared nicley with vegetables. The special was$23 Per person for a soup or salad, main entree with veggies and an ice cream dessert.
After dinner we went to Bugaloe to hear some music. It was just okay, not one of the, better bands we have, seen. After our friends travel day and Jons excursion, every I ne was tired and wanted an early night. Jon and I stopped by the casino and made another donation. We cant seem to catch a break. Tomorrow I will try the Hyatt, thats where we have our best luck.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Hey Tracy ! Wish you were there in a couple more weeks when we are. We love Pelican's Nest go there a few times for happy hour and yes bucket (s) of Brights!!!! My husband likes to watch the boats pack up and leave for the evening. Heard about that crazy wind, my husband thinks it would have been cool to watch but it sounds like it was a little scary especially when things start flying around and off walls. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip and write some more reports. I give you credit for even trying to write on your tablet, I cannot do that. I'm thinking of bringing my laptop this year, still debating. Guess I'll see how much room I have, started packing today!

    Day 4 Birthday celebration

Started the day with our first visit to Lindas. After the way Explorer talks about, I knew it couldn't be missed, and I agree it is a great way to start the day. I had mango, papaya, and pineapple and Jon had strawberry and banana. For those who havent had dutch pancakes it sort of reminds me of a flat, thin funnel cake. I want to go back to try one with brie.
After breakfast the walk back was very hot. To be that early in the morning, I was surprised. Next up we lounged on the beach for a few hours. Then it was off to Scotts brats for lunch. I got our friends to try the Docs Brat and it was a hit. We decided we will serve them at a cookiut next year to see people's reaction. Jon got the chicago style hot dog and love it too. I cant say enough good things about Scott and Leslie. They are just good down to earth people. We went a little early before the lunch rush to chat for a few minutes. If anyone is on the island, note that they will closed this Monday to take care of their work permit stuff.
Next up was a stop at Pelicans Nest for brights, then we made our way to Moomba to wait for Jolly Pirates afternoon sail.
JP was fun and entertaining as always. We had a pretty small group bit everyone was friendly and lively. The snorkeling at Antilla was not as rough as it has been in the past. I ddint really see anything interesting though. Boca Catalina was better. There were lots of different fish and things to see. Someone found a startfish that was pretty cool to see. Last stop is the rope swing. I was a little disappointed that none of the pirates did their flips. My husband and our friend were the only passengers who could do flips so we were proud of our guys!
Next stop was back to Pelicans Nest for liquid dinner and appetizers. We had a little bit of a few dofferent things, but of course we had the Garys delight! We met some people who we had connections with through jobs and hometowns. We had a lot of fun with them. Next stop on this bar crawl was Carlitos for their 2 for one happy hour. Mudslides and beers all around.
At this point we came back to the hotel for showers and were planning on going over in the area around Senor Frogs, but we lost my girlfriend to her bed so me and the guys hit the casino. I finally had some luck at a slot, but gave it all back at roulette. The casino has not beem good to us. I got on a roll at roulette with my little baby bets, but let the boys and the booze influence me and it was all downhill from there.
All in all it was an amazing day with great friends in beautiful Aruba.
Not sure when, but we will be back
