I would really like to stay a few days or even a week at Eagle Beach. Our visit to Matthews was part of my master plan . There is more within walking distance than we realized. We also learned that we do better on our budget when we don't have a casino to walk past to get to our room. We are working on trying to do 2 trips a year now, so maybe we can compromise and do one week on each side. The wide open beach at Casa Del Mar was really beautiful to look at.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Palapas at the Surf Club beach

Here are few photos of the beach crowding at the Marriott Surf club

This was our view from Row 7 where I paid $10 to reserve without standing in line

This was row 3, waiting in line at about 6:15am

This was my view after getting in line at 5am, there were no front rows left and this was the best in row 2

This was the location of the $40 umbrella

We really enjoy splitting our trip between low rise and high rise. It feels like 2 separate vacations for May we're going back to just the Divi but for November I've booked the Divi and then the Rennaisance for a few nights. It will be nice to try the private island and some of the downtown restaurants.

Wow! Look at all those people around! And you paid for that! I guess we "pay" for the chairs & palapas thru rent as renters or TS owners thru maintenance fees and of course a tip to the guy who sets out the chairs for you. Wow. Loving Eagle Beach more & more. Of course I'm not sure what Eagle would look like during high season - I've only gone during low.

    Thanks for sharing Tracey!

Wow! I don't remember that beach area being that crowded even at Christmas 2012. We were there last June, which was low season, so I cannot compare. I do recall my DH mentioning years ago that the Marriott, Surf Club, Ocean Club were cramming too many people into their beach space.

For a $40 umbrella do you get two chairs as well? Would be a great option for cruise ship passengers and those staying inland.

We used Surf Club chaira, I am not sure if they would be included for others.

The Ocean Club did not appear as crowded but I am sure it varies by week.
