Sorry to hear your vacation is off to a shaky start. We had a mostly positive experience at the Trop a few weeks back. I do think the staff and management want to be helpful and make their visitors happy so there's a very good chance they will make it right. I hope things turn around very quickly for you. Go to the happy hour at Lacabana - it's sure to make you feel better :-)

Actually, that's actually the watering hole that we went to. I asked for no compensation, just not our style, but they did afford us some.

Really difficult start. On the positive side there is no place to go but up. I can't imagine being in a room that has been locked up with an AC system that did not work properly....it would be a miserable night and I could lose my mind, lol. You have more patience than me. I am hoping the drinks are helping and the trip gets better quickly!

The good news is that you are there for 17 days....I am sure we will start hearing of days filled with fun filled adventures soon. I think we can all relate to trips starting off not so great, (not necessarily in Aruba but anywhere) hang in there and sounds like you are a very patient man. Have a fun day

In all of our trips we were only "disappointed" once during our check-in. We were so disgusted we tried to change hotels instantly but were unable to do so till the next day. When we moved hotels I was unsure if we would receive any of our money back as we prepaid for the room. After a couple of detailed letters, our money for the 5 nights we did not stay there was refunded to us.

Day 2: Moving Day, again. We're now on are third assigned room for the duration of our stay and settled in. Time to relax. Went over to Lacabana and signed up for a month's worth of gym membership. For those of you that have read any of our previous trip reports you might recall that we are gym rats. We're there every morning for an hour and a half, so I won't mention it again. There was a lot of steam to work off, so productivity was on the upside. Time to relax pool side. We spent a short time there, getting used to the sun. From there we stoped at the Double Down Sports Bar for a late lunch. We have eaten there before so we knew what to expect and lunch was enjoyable. Went back to Lacabana, the bride plays the slots while I update our trip reports. The cocktail waitress remembered us from previous trips, so the glass is always full. We probably broke out even, if you factor in the drink cost. Tonight was movie night. M-W it's two tickets for $10, so if there's something we want to see it's a go. After the movie we drove around the Palm Beach strip area looking for the new Chicken and Lobster...no luck. We'll try again another day. It was nice to have an uneventful day. Sure our glad we are here for awhile.

Chicken and Lobster is in the old location of Amuse Bistro. From the road if you are facing the Playa Linda entrance, it will be on your left at the end of the Playa Linda circle driveway.

Thanks Tracy. We didn't see any road sign driving by. We'll park next time and walk to it.
