Just saw DiviDivi Fan and her hubby and she says hello to everyone!

Our morning was spent on the beach where I found a great palapa. There is a tree next to it so all the leaves and branches have grown over the palapa giving an added layer of shade. Since Tom never goes in the water I figured it would be a lot cooler. Hopefully I can snag it again tomorrow.

Decided to to head over to the Bucuti for lunch. Figured we would grab a taxi but the Alhambra casino shuttle offered to take us over. What a character the driver was he was telling us stories and laughing all the way over. The staff at Bucuti are very accommodating offering to show us rooms but we declined the tour and said we would like to just take a walk around. The first thing we noticed was how QUIET it is. The property is absolutely gorgeous with palapas nicely spaced on the beach. We had lunch at Elements, delicious! It's very contemporary. The thing I thought a little odd was the pool is right up against the restaurant so when you look out your watching everyone in the pool. From the Bucuti we walked over to check out Manchebo. It's more casual/relaxed looking. I like that they have the 2 restaurants. While Bucuti has 2 one of them is Carte Blanche which is lovely but we're not always looking for a 4/5 course meal. The Manchebo also had a pavilion that looks like they probably use for entertainment or possibly weddings? Both properties are definitely worth consideration

by now I don't feel like going back to the beach so we walk over to the Alhambra. We had the promotional vouchers for free play from the Divi. The slots liked me today and turned that free play into over $200. I took the money and ran!!

Tom decided to take a nap so I decided to bore all you folks with my updates. More later!

Never boring Peg! Good work on the slots, hoping to share some of your luck this evening if I can pry myself away from the beach.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Think that the pavilion is for yoga and such..... Manchebo is a nice property and we're giving it serious consideration for next year.

Thanks for the virtual tour to those resorts, Peg. And the smile your story of the shuttle driver brought to my face. That's the Aruba I remember!

Yes, they do use the pavilion for yoga. I have seen wedding receptions held there (very lovely) and they used to have a guest welcome party there once a week. I'm not sure if they still do that, but it was very nice.

I'm not sure but I recall when I visited the bucuti website that the price includes a breakfast buffet and they had remodeled all the rooms. I always view the webcam at Bucutti at least once a week to take me to aruba mentally.

The Bucuti does include breakfast, free wifi and they give you an IPad with Skype to use. Prices quoted include all taxes which is good to know. The woman we spoke with was quite nice but did really push to try and get us to cancel Rennaisance and stay with them. We decided to keep Rennaisance reservation.

Cant believe you're already home Ace.
